SUPER SLOW DAY AT WORK...so sorry if this feels like beating a dead horse but didn't see this as its own thread anywhere.
So, with Urban at the helm, an incredibly bright near-future, a 12-0 season just passed & recruiting looking insanely positive...did we benefit in the long haul?
Don't...
To piggyback a bit (pun intended), Hoke is well known for being a very laidback personality type. I think this goes over well with a lot of young players today. What that equates to on the field, we'll see.
I personally like a no B.S. coach who says you come here and we'll work you to death...
I didn't do the research, but my cousin told me last night that the Bobcats are looking to offer their #4 overall pick for Bosh. If true, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
With numbers tight enough as they are, a full LB class last year, McMillan a likely Buckeye and commits already from Berger/Hubbard/Booker, I'm not sure Winovich will still have a spot in this class?
Maybe one of the gurus knows better, but I don't see Winovich in this smallish class.
Many of those sites are definitely on my short list. I hadn't heard about Hofoi but sounds intriguing. Did you by chance stop up in Akureyri or Isafjordur?
If you're into people watching, it doesn't get much better than CDG right outside of Paris. The French might not be the friendliest (though I was treated well both times there), but their women treat everyday like a fashion show and maybe 1 in 100 is obese.
I also enjoy a few of the small...
Didn't want to read back through the entire thread but wanted to post that which many others might (or might not) be thinking in regards to starting out #1 in the polls.
My argument as to why preseason polls can absolutely matter.
1) Whether we deserve it or not (which I agree that Bama...
NOBODY should want to play us in the playoffs right now. This team just keeps on trucking along and never lets up.
Now if Dallas can just lose...what a huge night it will be for our hopes.
If we get into the 8th spot and can score an average of 3 goals a game in the playoffs, we can hang with ANYONE. Bob + our physical style of play keeps us in most every game. This definitely includes the Blackhawks.
Thanks for the correction...but yeah, you're right. Super weird season. I know it's always nice to say "what if"...but could you imagine if we played the first half of the season anywhere near how we played the second half?
Here's to a solid W tonight for the good guys and a Kings win.
ROW or no ROW, if we lose to Dallas on Thursday, it's over.
If we win vs. Dallas and get 3-4 points from the other 2 games, I think we're in. If we lose tonight, it's not over...just not looking great.
Definitely worth noting that head-to-head, we owned Detroit 4-0 this season. I'm not...
I posted this in the CBJ thread, but I'll add here just for discussion...
At this point, if they lose to Dallas, they're DONE. If they beat Dallas and Nashville, they've got a solid shot. If they get a point (or two) in San Jose and beat Dallas & Nashville, I'll say they're in. Tough sledding...
I don't know how many of you stayed up to watch the game last night, but you could definitely see the fatigue setting in with the legs. There were a few good spurts where I felt like the Jackets were getting after the Kings pretty aggressively, but they looked tired and sloppy for the majority...
Although there are definitely three tough games (Kings, Ducks, Sharks), I'd call the Stars and Wild a wash more or less. Dallas is warm but only 9-9 at home and the Wild have lost a couple in a row...who knows. If Bob plays out of his mind anything is possible.
The Avalanche/Predators games...
