Lol... perhaps you should go back and read my original comment before running your jibs. The whole conversation is whether or not we need a strong Penn State in the conference. (And according to the title this is the right thread.)
Yes this has to do with my personal feelings being hurt.....
Even if some here don't think the SEC is the benchmark... they are. We might as well join the MAC so we can guarantee undefeated seasons and hope we can ramp it up for a game or 2 at the end.
Be back... gonna find threads on Boise St and TCU to see how many of you said the same things about them during the, do they deserve BCS games for rolling through their cupcake conference, seasons.
Does anyone question Alabama when they win a NC? If tOSU was eligible and somehow made it into the NC game this year and won it... Everyone outside the B1G would have been calling for asterisk again because we played no one all season. The same old "Ohio State would finish 4th or 5th in the SEC"...
Meh... in the end I think tOSU would be better served have more than 2 teams vying for the conference championship on a consistent basis. Others think we are fine with Penn State, Nebraska and Wisky being average at best and scheduling games 5 years out and crossing our fingers they don't suck...
I agree Mili... we have tried to schedule good opponents... for the most part I would say other than Texas a few years back and USC we haven't had much luck with teams being very good when we actually play them. My point is just that other than tOSU and hopefully Michigan... (I am still not...
I think we can all agree that there are a limited amount of teams that even have the opportunity to become a dominate team in the B1G. Penn State is or at least was one of them.
The point was made that the B1G doesn't need to be good because we play a tough OOC game every year. Which isn't true... we schedule someone and hope they are good, but it always isn't the case. I would say the next 3 years we will be counting on how good our conference is to be considered...

I don't know what year we scheduled them... but I would say average more accurately describes them. And whether or not they were any good... they are not good enough now to makeup for only...
like Cal?
Unless our conference gets better people from the SEC are going to say that it is easy to stack up wins against teams like NW, Indiana, Minn., Maryland, Rutgers, Illinois, Iowa, Neb, Wisky, MSU and a weak Penn State. We NEED at least 4-5 teams in the conference that can beat teams...
My post wasn't very well written I guess. What I am trying to say is that I hope that what the former staff did... doesn't effect the current teams ability to stay relevant, and further, doesn't adversely effect the level of players being recruited into the program. (I know that it will at some...
I understand why the current players and coaches have to be punished. But everyone that was part of the cover-up is no longer on the campus. The school itself being slammed monetarily thru fines and no bowl revenue. I was just saying that I hope that the current staff can keep the team relevant...
