The real issue will be Latos and Bailey not only next year, but in the coming 2-3 years. Homer is arbitration eligible next year, which will eat into the 14 mill that we have coming off the books and Latos still has 1 yr of arbitration in 2015. Homer then hits FA in 2015 and Latos in 2016...
Borbon's arm is about as bad as I've ever seen. I didn't think anybody could take the title away from Juan Pierre for weakest arm in the majors, but Borbon has done it. Bruce scored by essentially taking two bases off of Borbon, and he did so easily.
The Margus Hunt pick does not make sense to me either. We already have one of deepest and most talented set of DE's in the league and are in desperate need of safety help, as seemingly everybody, but Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis, realizes. Additionally, Margus Hunt seems like he has all the...
2 hits in 2 games. Pathetic. The good news is that April's schedule is/was brutal and if we can get through the month at or near .500 then we're in good shape, record wise. The Bad news is that we've gotten 2 hits in 2 games.
Gio Bernard is the pick for the Bengals. Bernard is a nice change of pace back, although I would have preferred Lacy or Ball. Hopefully this doesnt turn out to be Chris Perry over Steven Jackson Part II.
Good news on Smith. Hopefully this frees us up to draft a safety later in round 2.
They have to be, no way anybody can think up a name as original as Seven(th) by themselves. George must be very angry that Mr. Woods' parents stole his name.
The kid looks legit BTW. It looks like VJ King has some competition for top 2016 player.
I agree, Votto does not look comfortable at the plate and has uncharacteristically come up short in RISP situations. As was pointed out, Votto is getting on base more than 1/2 the time he comes up, and is hitting .277. I'm not ready to call him Ryan Howard 2.0 just yet. He'll come around. Last...
Dusty is just begging everybody to keep belaboring the point that he is piss poor at judging game situations and when to use the bullpen. First, there is no reason to pitch to Utley there. Second, if Manny Parra is on the team, why isn't he used in that situation. Third, if Parra wasnt going...
Exactly. Dusty runs Hoover out there almost everyday, along with LeCure, resulting in Hoover getting shellacked and Lecure's arm being, as of yesterday, too sore to pitch. Hoover's arm I'm sure is not too far behind. Baker then refuses to pitch both Broxton and Chapman, our two best bullpen...
No, once Chapman was inserted into the closers role, it was set in stone that he was only closing this season. It would be pretty unfair to Chapman, and unwise, to send him down to Lousiville for a month to get him stretched out. Assuming Cueto is out for a while, sending Chapman down to...
Our record is decent, but it's hard to imagine the season starting out any worse for the Reds. Losing our number 4 hitter and now Cueto has an issue with his arm definitely stings. Good thing we moved Chapman to the bullpen...
I'm just as bearish on Leake as the next person, but, for the sake of proper development, I would leave Cingrani in LOU through at least the All-Star Break. Cingrani has a below average breaking ball, which needs some refinement. The 6 inning, 14 K no hitter that he threw was basically him just...
3 HR given up through the 1.5 weeks for Hoover. Losing Marshall really hurts, seeing as we have nobody else to come in during the 7th inning. This is a knee jerk reaction, but we really should bring up Arredondo to replace Parra, so we have more options in the 7th with Marshall on the shelf...
CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Single handedly making up for the three runs he gave up. Love the silence in St. Louis...and the Bronx cheer for getting Heisey out.
What a great at bat by Xavier Paul. Hell of a job fighting off some tough pitches and finally jumping on a hanging breaking ball. Also, as Welsh just pointed out, great move by Dusty.
