Old news, but Mike Stafford (pitching coach) & Chris Holick added to the staff.
Holick is a young, high energy guy who has a reputation as a good recruiter. He gives us footing in florida and arizona..which seems to have already paid dividends.
One unpaid spot left to fill on the staff, but...

Cavfan, I noticed you seemed a bit unsure about Beals,
I really think we are all going to be pretty happy with this guy. I feel really good about this hire.
Better recruiting, better schedules...i'm pretty excited!
If it's up to Beals, i'd say definitely. I don't know how much autonomy Beals will have in regards to putting together his staff, but i;d say it's a safe bet Stafford will come with. Stafford seems to have done a nice job at BSU, and he's a Buckeye so i say bring him on.
Chris Webb tweeted this earlier, but i wasnt sure if it was a done deal.
A mild surprise, but not a shocker. I think most people thought he would be in the running, but i had sorta gotten locked onto Lemonis the last few days.
Not 100% certain why he has fallen from contention, but i think Strick may be a candidate for the ND job.
That's just what i heard a couple days ago, so things may be different now.
Lemonis or Strick would be my choices as well.
yea i saw that. I think deep down Smith was my number 1 guy..oh well.
Notre Dame is now hunting for a new head coach, and it will be interesting to see who they target.
i'd imagine Virginia assistant Kevin McMullan will be on their list.
Baseball rumor of the day..
U of L assistant Chris Lemonis will be interviewing for the job this week. And Tracy Smith apparently interviewed today..all just rumors of course
Another rumor is that Virgina assistant Kevin McMullan may be a candidate.
Rivals appears to be crawfishin' on their Stricklin to tOSU claim..
Ohio State interested in Stricklin, nothing done yet - Destination: Omaha - NCAABB? - Yahoo! Sports
That could very well be the case. Loser leaves town game with Irvine today, so a distraction is the last thing Stricklin and his team needs.
I guess all we can do now is wait...
According to Baseball America's Aaron Fitt...
Kent State coach Scott Stricklin refutes rumor he will take Ohio State job. He texted: "No basis for that. Have not been contacted by them."
Not 100% certain, but i think a search committee will be put together on June 7th. I know that June 6th is the last day for prospective coaches to put their name in the hat.
The same Brian Shoop that played at Malone?
i got to know Brian when he was at B'ham Southern. He did a wonderful job there..he hasnt done nearly as well as i expected at UAB.
i remember when B' Southern came up to C'bus to play the Bucks. I like to think that i had a small part in...
His/ her post sounds like something you might read in regards to football back in 2001...i think we did pretty well by not hiring a 'big name'.
The tOSU brand just doesnt mean a whole lot in the world of college baseball. The job opening here hasnt created much of a buzz..and that's a fact...
