In addition to the numbers, teams should have situational awareness. I'll take Ohio State's offensive line and running game over Indiana's run defense.

That's not what the numbers say. Teams should almost always go for it.

The DBs have mostly been getting picked apart, but Ward has been solid all game. Props.

If I played corner, I'd interfere on every deep ball. Better to chance the 15 yards than to give up a TD.

Pass interference should really be a spot foul.

It's been several years since I watched College Gameday, so I find that completely believable.

    Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I suspect the Bucks did offer Middleton, Brogdon, and a first rounder, but the Cavs coveted that Brooklyn pick. Nothing was going to top that.

Our offense is the physical equivalent of erectile dysfunction.

    Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Seattle needs a team, but not at Cleveland's expense. The NBA should move the Pelicans. They've never been able to fill seats in New Orleans. Rozier doesn't excite me at all, but that probably makes it all the more likely.

    Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

The Cavs know they aren't actually getting Brown or Tatum. Also, if you're Ainge, you don't have a whole lot of leverage. The Kyrie trade market may not be hot, but Cleveland is still negotiating from a position of strength. Apparently Thomas's leg isn't in good shape, you don't want Thomas and...

    Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I agree with your post, spadukins, but I expect Jaylen Brown to start at SG. Also, Cleveland's bench unit was terrible in part because we have no offensive system. LeBron is the distributor, creator, and attacker. Irving doesn't slot into that role as well (nobody does, frankly) so it was a...

    Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I began to look at the trade in a more favorable light today, but I am concerned about the Brooklyn pick. Brooklyn's roster is better, they have no reason to tank, and the Lakers, Suns, Bulls, Pacers, Magic, and Hawks may all tank. It still shouldn't be worse than #8 or so, but the pick's...

    Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Thomas can do many of the same things as Irving, but I don't think you stand a chance of beating Golden State with Irving Lite. I'd try to move Thomas for Bledsoe. At least Bledsoe makes us more interesting defensively. I'm intrigued to see what they could get for Love and the pick, but at...

    Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Why not? If the Celtics aren't willing to give up a second-year player or a rookie who hasn't played a minute of NBA basketball, they aren't getting Kyrie. You can play hardball when you have the leverage. The Cavs may have been rushing into a trade, but that's their own fault. They had...

    Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I can't understand the thinking behind this deal unless another move is coming. The Cavs needed to commit to making this trade about winning in 2018 or winning after LeBron leaves. It looks like they tried to cover both of their bases, and as a result, they failed at both. The Brooklyn pick...

    Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Bill Simmons presented this one on Twitter. It isn't my favorite trade, but I'm intrigued. Kemba isn't as good a shotmaker, but he's still a high-quality scorer and playmaker. Monk should be a solid piece, too.

    Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I'd be fine with both Porzingis + Noah for Irving and Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum for Irving deals. Porzingis and Tatum are special, and Brown was the only Boston player worth a damn in that playoff series last year. Those trades may not make us better than the Warriors, but it certainly puts...
