I think the ideal solution is keeping Wiggins and getting Love.
I would be willing to trade any combination of, Waiters & Thompson or Bennett and 2/3 first round picks.
Bennett still has potential to be a great player. He impressed me in the summer league.
I would have a couple counter arguments to those reasons.
1) Kyrie and Lebron were drafted by the Cavs. Going after a single superstar from outside of the organization happens everywhere.
Nobody teamed up...to come to Cleveland. Its nothing like the way Miami congregated.
2) Wiggins is a 19...
That's true in this case because the Cavs need to get Love this year. They really cant wait until he is a Free Agent to sign him outright.
The Cavs want to contend this year. That's what gives Wolves all the leverage.
Wiggins is good as gone. Wolves will drag this out all the way until the Feb...
Yes and not to mention, defense in the NBA is more about effort than anything else.
Kyrie and Kevin will undoubtedly give more effort playing defense for contending team, rather than for a team that doesn't make the playoffs.
Love is a proven 3x all star.
It would take Wiggins years to develop the experience and awareness that Love already has.
LeBron only has 5/6 great years left. We cant wait 2/3 years for Wiggins to possibly develop into the third all star.
The only way, we get Love and keep Wiggins, is if...
They are afraid K.Love would bail on them next year.
He is a Free Agent and wont be guaranteed to re-sign with them, so they would be losing Klay Thompson for a 1-yr rental of K.Love.
They could end up with nothing. So could the Cavs.
Great addition! Mike Miller has championship experience and is a knock down shooter.
I would have preferred Ray Allen, but hopefully LeBron will recruit him too and we can add him for the vet minimum.
Allen could come in now, strictly as a sharp shooter for the playoffs. He wouldn't have to play...

Looks like the Cavs offered Mike Miller, 2yrs, 5.5M
I hope they can sign him. He's is average on defense but deadly from the three. Also LeBron called him a hard worker and wants him on the Cavs.
Cavs will need...
Yes exactly, I was also making the point that its in Cavs best interest as well. Being able to clear up 21M in cap space makes a lot of things possible.
Even if no additions are made and nothing changes, having that potential is an advantage over other teams.
Some people on Cavs forums are...

Lebron agrees to two year deal. With a one year opt-out.
This is actually the best thing for the Cavs. It gives the organization more flexibility to pursue Free Agents next year.
I believe, if it came down to signing a big name...
Bosh....the guy that guaranteed a Game 5 win, then only scored 13pts and 0-5 from the 3pt line....max money? wow
The ironic thing is, Lebron leaving, was the only way the Cavs could draft young superstar talent.
LeBron leaving....then coming back...may have been the best thing he could have...
I would have loved to see Wiggins develop, but honestly with Irving and James we don't really need another athletic wing driving to the basket.
Wiggins role would probably be reduced to being a spot up shooter, and the Cavs can just sign someone like Mike Miller to fill that void.
Irving...
He probably should, he'll make more money, wont have to bang bodies under the rim and...if they make it to the Finals...they'll probably win.
Bosh complained about Miami becoming a job...It will only be worse this year for him. He is the only real backup for Andersen(36yo) Center.
Considering...
Miami used its exceptions to sign Mcbob and Granger. They can still bring Bosh back...but...
Looks like Mcbob was Miami's big addition...They are capped out. No gasol, ariza, morrow...
Miami will still have post defense problems, and will also have back court defense problems.
Wade and Allen...
Seems Miami has a Mexican standoff going on here.
Wade - doesn't want to commit until he knows if he can get max money (if LeBron leaves)
Bosh - doesn't want to commit long term (if LeBron wants short term).
Lebron - doesn't want to commit without better role players.
I agree with...
Miami looks like they will be in rebuilding mode next year as well...Wade will have to miss even more games next season to keep his knees fresh. (again)
LeBron clearly stated that messed up Miami's chemistry. Now add several new players and they could be dealing with chemistry problems all year...
When LeBron demanded better players, then demanded the max, then took off on vacation and didn't do anything to help land any free agents.
That's about the worse thing he could have done.....to help the heat.
