???
He has the same problems as Day. Never could win the big one in FCS. Plus he'd be 64 starting next season. People mad about 'hang 100' yet are happy to put up with his bullshit?
But it's not 50/50. The odds of doing worse are far higher than hiring someone that wins the game, 60% of their top five matchups, and NCs. Fire him but they need a home run replacement immediately.
Wanting to fire Day is fine, not arguing that but are people really acting like they'd be ok with a meh hire? You can't whiff after the last two decades. Day is coming up short and the base is losing it, for good reasons, while winning 10-11 games a year.
Now everyone's cool taking a step back...
The names being brought up as possible replacements are fucking depressing. There really isn't a lot out there. Fleck would be a perennial 8-10 win coach and I have no faith he'd be better in the game. Will never understand the love for Campbell. Just got his first 10 win season in year 14.
No...
Yep.
Can't argue with wanting Day fired, but this is another hard truth. There's no good ending right now. Keep Day and you remain blocked in the rivalry and struggling to win the buggest games. Fire Day and say goodbye to most of the promising young talent on this roster, a lot.of coaches...
He's a liability now. He wasn't before they ducked and cheated. When the other team pussies out of 2 straight losses, when it feels like they know exactly what you're doing (because they do) and they own you, it fucks with everything you think and do. Second guessing and overthinking becomes...
100%. Might sound ridiculous, but the mental aspect of the cheating was the most important. They still have confidence, especially in the rivalry, and without the 3 losses getting vacated yet its a huge burden and monkey to get off your back as a team.
After '14 and the incredible returning talent, the whole fanbase saw OSU asserting itself as a new dynasty. Can't blame anyone for the optimism. Never happened, though, and the fans never accepted that reality. With that perspective, it's been 10 years of disappointment and lost opportunity and...
It's something personal that he knows is there but it seems like it's impossible to figure out. Everything that happened between 21-23 he took personally and it's not something you can do and have the right mindset.
Reminds me of years I've had in which I'm so depressed and anxious that I can...
Heart breaks for the seniors. Especially on defense. They gave it their all. It wasn't a question of effort. Just a fucked up vibe and mental block after the last 3 years.
I really like Day. Great guy, great coach. He's someone you want recruiting and running a program. Unfortunately I don't...
Yeah. Wish I had a good answer for who to look for. I don't think there are any that stand out. Not going to be an easy search and I don't like Bjork to make the pick.
It was a bad matchup for the current OL and a QB that was possibly concussed. There's no other answer for how badly Howard played in the 2nd half. There aren't a ton of playcalling answers when you can't rum and your QB is erratic.
No idea. It's heartbreaking. Have to figure something out. Tired of football. Tired of trying to care and defend coaches. There's no good answer right.
I mean, you can see he clearly doesn't get to the marker when he's contacted and pushed backwards. You don't gave to look at the marker just where he was on the field when hit.
