Follow Ari for well written articles and discussion about the team. Don't follow him for recruiting or breaking news for the team. He's guessing with the same menbership you and I have to re recruiting sites and the Twitter.
Having said that, it may still be USC. But not because it's Ari's word...
Kind of a bummer, but t it appears that the plan right now is for him to do a 2 year mission after his freshman year. So he wouldn't even be able to play (assuming a redshirt) until 2022. And more likely 2023 since you need to be reaclimated. If he does do the mission, I don't see him ever...
Agreed, but at the same time if the Lakers knew they would land Lebron I think they keep him. LeBron is big enough to say F it, the kid fucked up but he stays. Imagine replacing Lonzo Ball with Russell. But of course they couldn't have known that.
My point was that he fell from a 1st round grade (college production) to 3rd round grade due to the combine. My point was that as a fan of a college team, you hope players get drafted highly, but as long as they're good for you that's mostly irrelevant.
If he were like Harbaugh and DEMANDED to control the offense, I could legitimately see the logic of preferring Day over Meyer due to the offensive game going towards Day's style vs Urban's. But given the evidence of Urban entrusting the offense with Day, that isn't the case. So until proven...
Don't they do that with all big time recruits? I wouldn't be shocked if Tate himself was courtside during his recruiting process. Fields is currently a member of the OSU football team. At that time they were recruiting him.
Just make sure the next time you see Day/Urban courtside with a recruit...
Seriously, that's your rebuttal to my comment? If you're just making a funny, sorry for not seeing it. But if you're being serious....then I don't know what to tell you. Did you just stick your fingers in your ears through the summer and say to yourself "wow, coach Meyer's cheeks sure got rosy...
Unfortunately for him, I think KJ coming back may have strongly limited his touches in 2019. 2020 I think he will 100% be a focal point of the offense, but I think Jaelen Gill is going to be the #2 H Back in 2019. Just a hunch.
I wonder if he could try to leverage the Zach Smith disaster into a hardship waiver. I could see him and and an attorney getting creative with the impact it all had on him, and the realization that a coach close to him is a potential wife beater.
Honestly, with improved coaching and fundamentals, I would be shocked if they aren't back to their typical levels of at least a top 20 defense. Hopefully even top 10. And if they are, even if the offense slips back some from #2 to let's say #10, the overall team should be much improved. I know...
Especially since the Burrow example was completely unfounded worrying. After week 1 you knew Haskins was >>>Burrow. And that was with OSU playing Oregon State and LSU playing a top 10 at the time team. You could just see it.
As for worrying about Fields leading OSU to 9-3 and Tate leading WVU...
Honestly if he's going to transfer if Fields is eligible, as a fan I'd take the gamble and want him to transfer now, not after the spring. All of his reps can now be split between Fields and Tate, and you have a larger pool of transfer candidates if you want to get back to 4 guys in the room...
If OSU were getting punished for losing said "9th conference game" I'd agree. They're getting punished for losing by 30. While obviously it's a hypothetical, if they lose by 10 against each team, they're in both years imo.
Count me in the camp that thinks transferring should be easier. My perfect system would allow all players one free, no questions asked, transfer. But in order to transfer any additional time, a waiver is required. And a waiver that is not easy to get (see: 2017 and earlier).
I'll say this: my preferred situation would have been Sheffield coming back and Arnette going pro since I do think both guys coming back could cause issues for 2 extremely talented guys in Okudah and Wade. Having said that, I'd absolutely rather have Arnette come back than have both guys leaving...
