Purdue deserved this win, that's all there is to it. Ohio State got out-played.
This team knew what it had to do; win out, get some help from Penn State, and they're in. And they blew it.
It hurts, but I almost expected them to lose this game anyway. This team is just so inconsistent.
My favorite play of his last night might have been on that one kickoff where he absolutely annihilated that wedge guy. Just a freaking missile flying across the screen.
Can't wait until they get a little more size on him and give him a full-time starting job next season. The guy is fun to watch.
I think it's two things really.
They like to just pound the hell out of the ball with Herron anyway. He's getting 25+ carries every game usually, and Hyde is the 3rd string. There's not many carries to be had.
And yeah, you know he's in the doghouse right now for the Twitter thing. It was...
Pretty terrifying story. It's pretty much that 2nd hit right after an initial concussion that's the most dangerous. One time I got absolutely LAID-OUT on a punt return and was concussed the rest of the night and everything, but the trainers never checked me out because I simply walked off the...
Very true. I was a TE in high-school and whenever I ran a Y-shallow (like 3 yards off the LOS) my QB would FIRE that damn thing in there, and it was pretty hard to catch and it always annoyed the hell of me. Pryor had a big problem with this.
Exactly. If they want Rod Smith to move to LB, either permanently or temporarily, they wouldn't do it if it wasn't best for the team in some way. Just looking at the future depth charts, he might be better off staying at LB anyway.
Exactly. It really does make a difference if the balls spiraling or not. Whenever you hear a receiver say "He throws a very catch-able ball", this is what they're referring to. Trying to catch a wobbler is tough, especially if they're thrown really hard. There's just a much bigger chance that...
I completely agree that OSU completely under-utilizes the TE position, which can be a major weapon if it's used right (like how New England does it). Just look at what Jake Ballard is doing with the Giants right now. He's on pace for 700+ receiving yards, which I'm almost positive would be more...
Dude's exciting to watch, there's no denying that. He's a terrible quarterback, but he's probably one of the most electrifying runners I've seen in CFB with the ball in his hands.
He'll be a pretty solid KR/PR/slot receiver in the NFL.
Backfield's going to be even more crowded next year with Dunn and Ball coming in.
Hall, Berry, Hyde, Dunn, Ball, and Smith? Even if Dunn and Ball redshirt carries will still be pretty hard to get, especially since it appears Smith is behind Hall, Berry, and Hyde right now and that probably...
There has to be a reason he's not more productive/utilized more... right? I think maybe he's not as huge of a playmaker/weapon as people act like he is (then again, who knows?), but I just don't see how he's basically not the focal point of this passing attack, especially with a frosh QB and...
What's the record for total number of players (and number of games) suspended in a season? This team has to be getting close...
Pryor*
Posey
Adams
Herron
Thomas
J. Hall
C. Brown
Howard
Whiting
Linsley
M. Hall
Clarke
Dorian Bell was supposed to be suspended (I think Jon Newsome too?)
Geez. Am I...
The starting QB went down and thus Joe Bauserman, his backup, had to come in play. Why is Bollman trying to defend Joe's performance and say he was put into a tough spot? Isn't this pretty much the same situation that any backup QB is put in when they're put into a game due to injury to the #1...
Can Sabino even rush the passer that well, though? I've heard about his supposedly great athleticism, but where does this come from? I've never really seen it on the field, and just from looking at his scout profile I see "aggressiveness, shedding ability, size" as his strengths and "pass...
Sounds good to me. Shazier's going to make some mistakes, but he's going to make some plays as well. I guess we've just been spoiled with the great LB play of recent years, but man... these guys have been pretty average. There just seems to be a slight lack of athleticism and WAY too many bad...
Yep. Besides that terrible killshot attempt on Burkhead, I thought he looked pretty good last night. That's a tough play to make, but it is what it is. He just needs to play a little bit more controlled and he'll be fine. Seemed like he was all over the place.
I think Shazier has shown that he needs to see more meaningful playing time. Curtis Grant, though? Why? Because he's a 5 star prospect? Same thing with how people bitched and moaned for years to play Sabino, and well... you're getting him now and he's looked like quite an average player as a 4th...
