Agreed, he showed enough skill set to garner a top 15-20 pick but lets be clear, he excelled against opposing teams #3 receiver but now everyone wants to see him against opposing team's #1 guy. If he is as good as we all think he is, we might not see much of him as teams will be trying to test...
I can tell from first hand experience he is, I know Deon from working SMSB, he is a stand up guy who has put his son in the best position to be successful, hence him going to Grosse Pointe South instead of Detroit King (Which would have been an upgrade football wise, but GPS has way better...
I know im late on this but this kid's technique is really good for where he is in his career, just imagine when Coach Mick gets his hands on him, he's going to be a monster
Pops (Derrick Davis Sr.) grew up right around the corner from me in the Glenville area and went to JUCO together. He is a big Buckeye fan, his son knows where his roots are
I actually disagree from the stand point of him being a complete stud from the slot/safety, he was damn near Honey Badger like with is play, no you add the fact that he could go to the outside and be the #1 shutdown guy? You take production, positional versatility, and testing well athletically...
God, I love this kid, he probably is my favorite player on the team now that Hamilton is gone, I swear this was the first thing I thought about when I saw that clip
The first thing I notice while watching him is he has elite vision, he knows exactly when he needs to stick his foot in the ground and get downhill and is an outstanding receiver out of the backfield
