Depending on one's life situation, that could be a blessing or a curse. The last thing I want is a lingering death. My worst nightmare is incapacitation, ending up in some nursing home just laying around - at the mercy of underpaid employees who don't give a shit about me - and hoping to die...
I have the same damn thing going on in my legs. My toes are blue in the morning because I refuse to sleep with compression socks. My liver can no longer keep up, and I still drink. I have no interest in being 70 and single, anyway. That's why I treat each Buckeye season as my last.

My mom's doctor, an arrogant prick most of the time, literally cried when he told her she had colon cancer. He went back and looked at all of her scans and swore there was nothing there...and then poof.
Cancer's a fucking unpredictable bitch. That old doc is gone now too, from cancer.
Did not know that - certainly a factor.
I also think these old coaches just don't want to play this new game, especially the ones who have won all there is to win.
