I highly recommend Big Bend. After covid and seeing all of these national parks being overrun with tourists, I've made a point to visit the less-visited national parks and it's been well worth it. First did Big Bend, then Guadalupe, White Sands, Carlsbad, and then Black Canyon of the Gunnison...
Yes, an amazing experience. I did it when I was 28 years old. Not sure my close to 50 year knees could take the descent. Me and a friend camped next to there Colorado for 2 nights. The extra day was great to recover and also went on a long hike along the river.
