I feel the opposite. Looks like Days balls have now fully dropped, and he is realizing he can't be know as the "nice guy" and win at the highest level in a contact sport like football. You have to give your team an edge by being a bit rough imo.
Things he still has to deal with ( I believe he...
His situation is similar to Beckmans imo. Only reason I brought it up. Sorry.
Just showing OSU has a precedent for changing qbs that have had some success in the past.
Boeckman originally committed to Ohio State in 2002, only to redshirt and grayshirt in 2003 and 2004. He was the backup to eventual Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith for two years before he finally earned a shot heading into the 2007 season.
He was at OSU forever before being benched for a...
Does no one remember Tod Beckman. Guy got us to the Nation Championship game. Yes, it was behind a fucking monter Beanie Wells. The next year he goes full statue of liberty like 10 times against USC and Tressel went to a freshman Terrelle Pryor.
McCord isn't the fist player to be told he...
That's why when Day had Lincoln run a Boot with an RPO I almost cried with anticipation. It just puts so much pressure on a defense when your QB can move.
I am not saying that McCord couldn't "Burrow" it . I assume Ryan Day did that.
Henderson and Ebuka are probably 2nd rounders, but only because of injuries.
Haskins, Fields, Stroud *Burrow*
Zeke, Dobbins, Samuel, then had to grab Sermon cause we didn't have a stud. Day expects a pretty high...
That's not my point. Yes, if guys aren't out there fighting their asses off then that's a problem. My point is, it's not a do or die game, and Day needs to be looking forward to next year more than this game.
I would rather lose the bowl game and have some film to go over for next year. This...
I don't know man. The goal at osu the last decade is 1st rd running backs, wrs, and QBs. It's a high standard for sure, but this is OSU not Michigan or Pennstate
You always try to win!!
I have seen it all my life. Some guys practice great, and then fold under the lights. I thought after the ND win Kyle had turned the corner, but then it seemed like every first half until Michigan state he struggled mightily.
The pressure at OSU is insane. I...
I don't care if Day rotates Lincoln and Brown series after series. It's a scrimmage. Improve the team for next year by evaluating your talent in front of an audience.
Not tring to pick on Kyle, but he struggled with his nerves more than anything. That would have been hard to predict in...
Then you do agree with me. Every year in the NFL draft qbs get picked in the first round that don't work out. In college you recruit 16-18 year Olds. Sometimes things don't workout.
I think Day does a great job at developing qbs, and McCord just didn't pan out as his guy. This stuff happens.
Day deserves the heat. It was always Day and Lincoln Riley that were supposed to be the 2 best QB whisperers in college football. If Day isn't fielding a potential 1st round pick at qb he isn't fulfilling his potential as head coach. IMHO.
I wouldn't say I am happy, although i do think OSU can do better. I am not surprised one bit. McCord and Day seemed at odds alot on the sidelines this year.
I am not at the practices, so I don't know how the other QBs are progressing, nor what Day could have lined up in the transfer portal...
Your right I shouldn't put words in your mouth. Sorry. Just the overwhelming negativity on this forum is getting ridiculous. Bucks went 11-1 and lost by 6 on the road to the 1 team in the collage football playoff. It sucks, but the team has a bright future and I do think they can get over...
