I never said that. You can be negative and act like this this team is the worst and needs a complete overhaul, I won't. This team was 1 or 2 plays away from an undefeated season, I am not going to just shit on the whole team, or McCord for that matter. I do not think he is a OSU level QB...
I think his play calling was better than you think. Lots of plays where guys were running wide open for TDs and the qb just missed them. Happened all year.
Yes but their 2nd stringer was just out a week for a concussion. They won a conference championship game with a 3rd string qb throwing for 55yds. Impressive team win imo.
Bama had to throw a hail Mary to beat a 6 win auburn team
I am talking about the lead up to this season. Not high school. A lot of people knew the qb situation was bad when Day couldn't pick one. "If you have 2 qbs you have none" was a common phrase of worry before Indiana.
I don't know if its Days fault or McCord, but somehow he didn't progress...
Day 100000% Its his specialty. And anyone saying McCord is tabbed as Days guy should look at the big picture. All the coaches including Day basically "wished upon a star" that Brown would overtake him, they gave Brown well into the season to get more consistent. They mentioned his legs and...
Only way he plays again is if.....
Oklahoma State beats Texas
Georgia beats Bama
Louisville beats Florida State
Also be nice if Washington beat Oregon.
This is a great post. I was one of those people that thought OSU was looking at a 3 loss season. That's why I haven't said anything bad about the coaching staff. I think they pretty much maximized the talent they had. Obviously hindsight is 20-20 and you can question some calls looking back...
I know Lincoln was only playing scrubs in North Dakota, but that Kid had big time swagger and emotion in all the sports he dominated in. Curious to see if that would translate to the OSU sideline. We need a qb that can fire up the troops.
Also I think Eichenberg's injury kept him from having...
Well... still need to see. I truly believe McCord is pretty good in practice, but under the lights it's takes him a half to get his butterflies out. Maybe give him a bong hit or xanex and he's the second coming of Stroud.
Some dudes just have trouble with pressure.... but McCord seemed at...
Really? He has no wiggle like X. Let him blow the top off the defense with his elite straight line speed. Tate and Innis will dominate underneath if he takes a safety with him.
It's interesting to me that Day isn't drooling over having a guy that can run boots, rpos, and just a competent sneak on 4th and 1. It just opens up a whole nother section of the playbook to choose from.
I really believe Day wanted Brwon to be the guy but he was just to...
IMO Day can't stand McCord. He's the only player I have seen Day consistently blow up on in public. And I don't remember 1 interview where Day was gushing about his qb this year. I do expect Day to attempt to move on from the current 1-2 qbs.
I don't mean to be elitist, but this is The...
