The shoulders do not have to be square for a charge to be called. They have to be square in order to establish legal guarding position. Once established, they do not have to continue to be square.

Ohio State was actually the 4th 2 seed. The committee no longer follows the S-curve. They rank the teams 1 to 68 and go down the list trying to get the higher teams closer to home while following the seeding rules. The official seed list can be found here...
In his game preview, Miller was talking about the Buckeyes trying to cement a first round bye in the Big Ten tournament. I would assume that was what he was talking about after the game. Although, after reading it again, he does not seem to realize that the five seed no longer has a bye.
The Big Ten has had a grant of rights since 1988. It was extended in 2007.
