So apparently Dillon was offered a 2 year 2 Million Dollar deal by Overtime Elite per Tipton Edits.
Great for Dillon, awful for OSU who was otherwise going to land him.
Hope the staff heard that this might happen and have been working on some of their plan B forwards.
Well, I mean, they aren't going to say no to Walker, they just aren't likely to get him.
A grad transfer would have no impact at all on the 2023 class.
I just don't see any way this staff isn't going to at least look at adding an experienced player, in the frontcourt especially.
We have a ton of spots for 2022. Probably as many as 8. We are graduating a TON (not many are going to use the extra year or are already on it) and EJ is likely gone after this season. Only guys likely to be returning for 2022-2023 are Meechie, Malaki, Brown, Etzler, and Key.
I think Holtmann...
He wasn't gonna make that much NIL at OSU.
Honestly this will probably prepare him better for professional play than another year of college would. And he will make good money doing it.
The Crystal Ball for Aire happened before we got Okpara. Doubt we pursue him further now, he is like a lesser version of Okpara.
I'm fairly confident that the guy Holtmann hinted might be committing soon is Dillon Mitchell.
Which would be awesome.
It does that.
Been a long, long time since we got a center like this. I'm excited.
And the thing with Okpara is it's not just the shot-blocking, it's his defensive versatility at his size. Great fit for our D.
I actually want Mitchell more than Casey. Just love Mitchell's attitude and altitude. Elite defender who is rapidly improving.
Walker is a truly elite prospect and about as complete a PF as you could ask for at his stage. The down side with him is only one year vs. 2-3 from Mitchell.
It's more opportunity for guys like Meechie, Branham, Brown (which also will develop those guys more for the following season). We will miss Washington, yeah, but there are positives, too, to him seizing that opportunity and returning guys seizing theirs in turn.
Liddell would have been much...
I do think Branham pictures himself as two and done. Gayle, as well, meaning he would only be here the first year of the 2023 class. Could see Meechie gone after his junior year, too.
Who know how exactly everything will shake out but I wouldn't be surprised if we end up taking a few 2023 guards.
