I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. Did you watch the video interviews? Holtmann wasn't complaining AT ALL. He was nothing but supportive and celebratory of Branham. When reporters pressed him with questions about what he was expecting in terms of a timeline when he got Branham or how this...
Not a PG and not a great defender but he has the tools to score against good competition, and he'll probably do better defending SGs than Holden would have if we didn't add an off-guard.
But I am concerned about our only lead guard options next season being true frosh Bruce Thornton aaand....?
Yeah, that's kind of like saying "I don't think it's gonna rain in Seattle any time soon."
Sure, anything can happen, but the precedent is wet.
That said, I have no problem with Towns being the 12th man on our bench or whatever, and if by some miracle he can stay healthy and get close to 80%...
An attorney for Miami-based Life Wallet announced that Nijel Pack will be making 800k in NIL for 2 seasons at Miami.
NIL and free transfers should work out fine for OSU football. But it could be a pretty bad thing for OSU basketball.
I don't think Antoine Davis is what we need. He's maybe a slightly more dynamic Cedric Russell. Turns it over as much as he assists and that's in the Horizon. His defensive rating on Evan Miya is a dreadful -9.9
I'd rather have Pack, Couisnard, or Barthelemy... in that order.
Probably because we have our future PG in Thornton and are chasing multiple transfer lead guards in the meantime.
I think Meechie is making a smart decision. Find a team where maybe he can have more of an on-ball role and possibly one that plays more up-tempo. Meechie's game is more suited for...
The analytics don't love his defense but some people who have watched him think he's a really good defender. I'd say probably not a plus defender but he's a bucket-getter and we're gonna need that pretty badly next season, too, with EJ and Malaki gone.
A B1G conference championship is a low bar?
We'll see how next season plays out. If it's bad, yeah, Holtmann might get fired. No clue who Gene might hire and if there aren't any great candidates and Holtmann has another top third of B1G/R32 type season (which is not bad, mediocre, or...
Personally I am a fan of the Owens hire and he has good defensive acumen all the way back from when he was a player, so I won't be as annoyed as some will be if Netti gets promoted.
I like promoting Jake and have him running the offense. Makes sense.
I don't mind if we promote Netti into the "personnel" coach role. He has assistant experience and I think would do well in that Schrage-type role. I also believe he could recruit well enough. If Holtmann goes another way...
A lot of people on here were not McGuff fans and I honestly didn't know what to think about him, either. I still don't. But it's cool that things came together a little bit more than usual for him this season as far as the team dynamics and chemistry.
