I was perusing stadium and main earlier and there was a thread discussing potential replacements. A few guys over there acknowledged that the best bet was probably to hire someone who had worked under Meyer, the same way they had to hire Bo to beat Woody. Charlie Strong was the top mention, w/...
I missed the play that he is referencing here, but a pretty good synopsis of UM football right now. . . style over substance.

Yep, solid team, but I haven't seen anything from Hogan to make me think they're capable of beating a physical defense with a consistent offense. Hogan throws the ball like he's tossing a grenade from a bunker.
I feel like we've been hearing this since OSU owned them in the Rose Bowl. They finally see a good team, get their dicks kicked in, and everyone realizes they got fooled again... score 60 points on some scrub the following season and everyone forgets about the previous 4 seasons...
I know CFN gets knocked around here, but for anyone who's bored Fiutak gives an interesting comparison between OSU and Oregon's seasons, and why OSU getting bumped from #2 was kind of obsurd.

I got past the almost and legitimately felt bad for him. His team and coach essentially left him for dead and he kept trying. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some sore ribs that made him instinctively pull up when he knew he was going to get smashed. I enjoy seeing them suck, and him throw...
Was curious myself so I checked... it's both. You can actually follow the trend all the way back to 2004.

2004 Michigan (#14) 45 Michigan State 37 Ann Arbor, MI
2005 Michigan 34 Michigan State (#11) 31 East...
Bert complaining about not getting gametape showing Auburn's kickoff formation. This is the same guy that refused to send Oregon State any game tape last year. Best part is that by complaining to the media, Bert broke an SEC bylaw...
This is why I think there's more to do with personnel. By making this one move last year and putting Boren's leadership on defense, the defense improved immensely. Who is the leader of the defense now? I know Shazier is the best player, but is he managing the defense on the field? I don't know...
Not to ruin the theme here, but I lived in Iowa City last summer and loved it. It's a pure college town with a ton of bars and restaurants, and a couple nice lakes/reservoirs to chase tail in the Summer. The rest of the state pretty much seemed like Ohio, with a meth problem.
I just don't think (unbiased) voters will take that into consideration. They're going to put all undefeated teams next to each other and look at the overall competition and margin of victory.
Buckyle's point about Oregon choking at some point will likely make this whole conversation irrelevant.
And Tennessee, who sucks, but it doesn't matter because they almost beat Georgia and are in the SEC so they must be at least a top 25 team.
On a non-facetious side though, I agree w/ Tampa. Oregon is doing what they're expected to do and blowing teams out, even if they aren't good. It also...
Just caught a bit on the FoxSports Live where they were discussing how a maximum of 5 teams can finish undefeated. It was a pre-recorded montage type thing where they ended by saying "teams are likely to be chosen based on conference strength based on the SEC and Pac-12 being the top two ahead...
