  1. SF Alonzo Gaffney (transfer to NW Florida, transfer to Arizona St.)

That information has been on a lot of free sites.
  2. SF Alonzo Gaffney (transfer to NW Florida, transfer to Arizona St.)

Seth Towns is being recruited heavily. I'm guessing the Gaffney "situation" is the main catalyst. We need another ship to add another player and Towns plays the 3/4.
  3. 2019-2020 B1G Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

I figured they needed to win one of their last 2 or a couple in the BTT. I think beating the conference leader has secured them a bid. Their computer rankings are solid and will be at least .500 in the conference. I agree there is an issue with their record away from home, but in yet another...
  4. '21 KS SF Kendall Brown (Baylor Verbal)

If you've offered a top 20 kid and he wants to commit, you 100% take that commit, no questions asked. FWIW, we currently have no room for any more '21 recruits unless there are departures. I think we can probably assume there might be one or more by then, but not sure who it would be. Right...
  5. PG C.J. Walker (Official Thread)

You know, I wanted to disagree with this statement because Kaleb is so valuable and Dwayne has had some key games, but I think the past 10 games or so, I'd probably have to call CJW the team MVP.
  6. 2019-2020 Ohio State Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

Didn't want to play backup C.
  7. SF Alonzo Gaffney (transfer to NW Florida, transfer to Arizona St.)

Y Yeah, I'd think most guys would have to be near death to not be on the bench for a game you have a good chance to play in. Now, it is a road game and maybe he just isn't good enough to travel, so I'll try to give him the benefit of the doubt.
  8. 2019-2020 Ohio State Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

I am not going to try and predict the future based on this year. DJ and Jallow are out, Young still not at full health and being limited in practices due to emergency apendectomy. The roster isn't that great right now. If DJ and Jallow return, I will feel much better about next years roster...
  9. C Zed "Finger Guns" Key (transfer to Dayton)

Bronny is a frosh and SC is loaded in the back court. Don't have a ton in the front court, but do start a 7'3 center who isn't a very good athlete. Their top guys are slender wing players. Still though, great performance against a top ranked team for Key. Long arms, light on his feet, good...
  10. The Ohio State University @ ttun, Tuesday, February 4 @ 7PM, ESPN2

Yeah, it was a relatively weak flagrant foul, but a correct call by the rules. Simpson drove the lane and just after he released the off balance shot, he grabbed Youngs shirt and held onto it until it ripped (my guess is he was trying to emphasize getting fouled. It pulled Young off balance...
  11. 2019-2020 Ohio State Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

Walker is pretty much what I expected and actually maybe a bit better as his shooting has been solid. I didn't expect a creator type as he didn't do that at FSU. Carton is actually the one I thought would be much better. He's shown flashes and his athletic ability is evident, but he's too...
  12. #9 The Ohio State University vs. Morgan State, Friday, Nov 29 @ 9 PM, BTN

I was behind the Buckeye basket in the first half as well, over by the player entrance. My kid was the one on the jumbo tron stuffing his face with cotton candy. The only thing I would add to game performance is that Kaleb can get position on anyone and has great hands and nice footwork, but...
  13. 2019-2020 B1G Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

Without Langford, they have a pretty big void at the 2G. Watts is going to be a good player, but he's a smallish combo guard who is used to having the ball in his hands. Without Langford, I'd probably still consider MSU to be the favorite to win the conference, but its a much smaller margin...
  14. 2019-2020 Ohio State Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

The "Challenge" matches teams up based on what expectations are this year, not what results were the previous year (UNC and OSU were generally projected 3rd in their respective conferences). They also consider how often teams are at home (try to alternate between home/away), who you've played...
  15. 2019-2020 Ohio State Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

'11-'12 was a final 4 year '12-'13 was a bit of a surprising run to the E8. I would say this years team is a fair amount better than that team, talent wise (depth) and with balance. That team had absolutely nothing in the post, but did have DT as a supreme scorer.
  16. 2019-2020 Ohio State Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

The offense will look a lot different. Sueing is our best offensive wing and presumably Liddell and Gaffney will show some improvement by years end and into next year (and hopefully Gaffney adds about 15 lbs). I suspect with Carton running the show and more athleticism in the lineup, we will...
  17. 2019-2020 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

I agree with that especially since UK was not very good in the back court that year. Also, the game was at Robert Morris and Noel was out (probably the reason they missed the NCAA tourney). Even with Noel, that was the weakest UK team under Cal. This years team has FF talent.
  18. 2019-2020 Ohio State Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

Ahrens missed a ton of time this summer and only been practicing full go for a few weeks. He's not close to game ready. Don't know what we will get from him when he is back in game shape and skills honed, but I don't look at the guy we see on the floor now as the best Ahrens can be.
  19. OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

Where did i say he did? My comment specifically says that IF he leaves after 2 years (not that he won't chose to do so), it won't be to play in the NBA. I did not see him play live. There are maybe a half a dozen of their game recordings available online. He has potential (athleticism is...
  20. OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

Based on what I saw in HS and the Cedarville game, if he leaves after 2 years its not going to be to play in the NBA. Not that one game means everything, but not playing at all in the UC game was telling. Now, with Andre out for a couple of weeks, it will be interesting to see how much PT he...
