    I don't know the answers to your questions, but had a random one of my own:

    was this limited to the maxima or did it plague the 05 Altima too? I ask because I almost bought an 05 Altima but settled on an 05 Scion tC (and while I enjoyed it, I always wondered if I made the wrong call)
