    Interesting how it can vary across a state. I live in the DFW area and my property taxes are about 2/3 of 1% on the appraised value of my house. I am over 65, so I have a senior exemption plus the homestead exemption. So, depending on the taxing jurisdiction, as much as $200K of the house value...
