I think it hangs largely on whether the coaches pull themselves together as a team and get the preparation right for the team. The offense feels very disjointed after Indiana.

Uptempo also affects the defense. Going uptempo lessens the time that the defense has to read your intent and adjust accordingly. Slowing the game down has its own advantages. I think you need to do both, perhaps even in the same drive.

Desperation makes folks do many things. Read Mullainathan and Shafir's book Scarcity. Perceived deficits are not only monetary, respect, value, peer relations...all of these can trigger suboptimal thinking that result in really stupid decisions. Kerry's real value was triggering excitement...

I think that, given trends in the US, we must admit with regret that Harbaugh played this about as well as he could. He disgusts me, but he played the game legally as best he could according to the outcomes he wanted, and he showed that "a real Michigan Man" could care less what happened to...

I respect a kid who has raw talent and stays home. On the other hand, I loathe a team that recruits young people and then does so little to develop them.
