It sounds like he has been through hell trying to stay on the field. When you are playing in such pain, after more than two decades of football, it is really time to think very hard about the effects of continued play somewhere else on your health.

I get the argument that you want to protect your top players in such a long season but, for goodness sake. Don't be so predictable, mixing the fast and slow play calling will help keep the defense under pressure. Give the 2's more playing time.
