Death, taxes, and Ferrari screwing up their race strategy. Threw away a comfortable win for Leclerc with their pit stops, Red Bull capitalize. Gutted for Leclerc as I was rooting for the hometown boy, but happy to see Checo win at Monaco.
Don’t post much, but love reading the site, especially on game days. One of my best friends, a huge Buckeye fan, was killed in an accident recently. He and I went to The Game up in enemy territory in 2015 and then talked our way down onto the field afterwards. One of my favorite memories of...
I'm one of those dumb fans who hated the halo, thought it looked terrible and would make it far more unsafe if drivers had to escape a cockpit fire. I've never been more happy to be so wrong. Halo saved a life in Bahrain.
Finally got a chance to watch it after a DVR malfunction this marooning. Entertaining race, even though I was hoping Valtteri would bring it home. Just didn’t have it in him today, and Lewis has so much mental toughness, it’s unreal.
Unfortunately, this championship is over. Would be very...
Yeah, I’m not sure they’re actually trading up by replacing Perez with Seb. But I have to admit, I’m interested to see what Seb can do driving the year-old Merc.
Add the 24 seconds he was gifted from his free pit stop and he finishes outside the points, exactly where his nepotistic ass belongs.
After the race he said at the restart it was his race to lose. Well, he certainly did.
Agreed. Though I find him whiny at times on track, he’s a class act and it’s not often you get to watch Greatness as it happens. He’s the best racing driver I’ve seen in my life, and it’s not even close, imho. Just wish he had some real competition, because he’s so good he makes the sport...
Bottas is a mystery to me. I really like him, and at times seems like a world class driver. But, the difference between what he can get out of the car and what Lewis gets out of the car is insane. Does anyone think Valtteri would come back up through the grid like Lewis is doing if the roles...
So basically, all F1 needs, to have entertaining races, is for the greatest driver of his generation (and maybe ever) to make a mistake the likes of which he never does and get shuffled to the back halfway through the race.
After last week at Spa I almost decided to spend my Sunday morning...
Gotta say, watching Stroll get swallowed up on the restart gave me the warm and fuzzies. Daddy may buy you a seat in an F1 cockpit you don’t deserve, but he can’t buy you talent.
Not often the Mercs make a mistake such as they just did. Stroll gets a free pit stop out of this and is in the prime spot to win this race. Incredible.
I’m hoping the McLaren’s can make a move and Bottas can make a run to close up some of the gap with Lewis.
McLaren is very interesting. Seidl seems to be the real deal as a team principle, and going to the Merc power unit next year could see them jump into the top 3. I just don’t see anyone coming close to Mercedes though until the new regulations go into effect in 2022.
I wonder if Sainz is...
Rather boring Grand Prix. Would have liked to see Red Bull roll the dice on a two stopper for Max and see if they could have put pressure on the Mercs.
But yeah, Lewis is in a class all his own. He’s amazing. Unfortunately, makes for uninteresting racing.
