The way you express yourself (Northern Illini ?) ( NI?) I can tell immediately that you must have received a Doctoral Degree in English from Columbus, or did they TOSU out
As a White Sox/NIU fan, I'm pleasantly surprised you have a WS thread on this board. Still have the wildcard lead and only 5.5 back of Detroit. Garland is definitely proving his value this year he has really matured into a stopper.
I wouldn't call NIU's offense a strictly "spread offense" however NIU does have a large number of 3 WR sets that force the opponents D coordinator to have to cover a large part of the field which opens running lanes up for the backs.
Unlike most other MAC teams, NIU doesn't throw as many...
Saying something halfway positive about your opponent (even in jest) will get you thrown out of Buckeye Nation.:sneaky:
I get the whole Ohio football devotion thing. ND has fans all over the nation who attend other programs. Illinois is a basketball state, most programs have a far larger...
Texas lost the top TE and QB in their program's history. Breaking in a new QB, OSU's D will have less to prepare for vs an offense that is returning a starting QB (#23 by college football news) the leading returning rusher nationally, the Only offense returning two top 20 rated OT's (College...
U should be bucknuts, I'll bet your D is going to be playing alot of 8 men in the box. Your D coordinator should be looking for insight on tendencies in terms of formations and plays NIU will run to "strech the field" if OSU continues to play 8 in the box.
I didn't say "scared" Scooter, Cooter or whatever your name is; but respecting the Huskie offense. Why else would they hire an ex-NIU player 6 weeks before the opening game if not to get some insight into the Huskie offense and how best to game plan for it.
With the Buckeye staff hiring former NIU receiver PJ Fleck as a graduate assistant coach; they are taking this game more seriously than any Buck fans posting here. They wouldn't have hired him if NIU wasn't on the schedule and Tressel didn't take the Huskies seriously. Hold on to your nuts...
Large # of MW D1 programs
College football fans wonder why the MAC has not done well OOConference; a large part of the lack of success has to do with too many teams in a small number of states With OH having 8, MI 5, IN 4 and IL 3; that's 20 of the 116 (not counting the 3 Service Academy...
