Your previous thoughts led me to this. We only have 12 teams. There are 30 MLB teams. There is no way our 12 teams have 90 starters (top 3 on each team). So, the two game per week model would challenge more than using only 40% of MLB rosters. We could add 3 P slots and 3 H slots to each...
What does the country have to do with a state statute? 15-60 years for the same crime in TN, for example. On the other hand, probably would have received next to nothing in Montana.
Closers are an integral part of the game. A low leverage middle reliever is being asked significantly less than the guy in charge of getting the 27th out. If you combine the two stats, you've made them equals. That's not an accurate reflection of the game.
No, I was trying to keep it simpler and similar to previous seasons with upping SP value a bit. Here’s mine…
OBP
SLG
HR
RBI
SB
R
ERA
WHIP
Win
Save
Hold
K/BB
I believe the very simple fix to the K problem would be to go from K/9 to K/BB. Shifts the category for the most part from relievers to starters.
I definitely like going from BA and OPS to OBP and SLG. Other than that, I think it starts to get a little too redundant and complicated. And to...
If it hasn’t become clear by now, my only real disdain is for the hold. It’s the most idiotic stat known to man. You can pitch a 1/3 IP, give up 4 ER, take the Loss, and still get a hold. That‘s idiotic, and it happens more than you think.
What about combining saves/holds (saves+holds) and using Runs created (Runs+Rbi-HRs) instead of RBIs and Runs? This gives starters more equivalency to relievers and also gives better hitters more equivalency to HR heavy hitters.
