Arizona State C Massamba Diop, the top available big man in the portal, has committed to Gonzaga.

Toronto fans were loving Jamison Battle last night as he shot 5-5 (4-4 from 3) in the pivotal 4th quarter to help turn the tide in the Raptors win over the Cavs.

UM landed another big fish in the portal, this time the 7-footer Thiam from Cincinnati. Thiam is a surefire NBA prospect. Louisville got another good portal addition, CG Montgomery from Dayton.

According to Adam Jardy, they are expected to stick with the 10 "NIL" players they already have for the rotation. I would not hold my breath on them adding another serious player...

All of these last 3 portal adds are projected to come off the bench.

Mobley, Williams and Givens all had similar assist rates this past season. Mobley 17%, Williams 18, Givens 16.5 - they all fit the mold of combo guard. Bruce had the highest rate on OSU at 21.5, while Pippen was at 29.4 (bona fide PG level).

Pippen had by far the highest assist rate, so I would assume he will start at the 1.

Curtis Givens III brings another combo guard into the fold, so more ballhandling, passing, scoring and depth to the backcourt. With that, it could be that OSU is done adding rotation players for this season. Projected bench is Givens at 1/2, Williams at 2/3, Smith at 3/4 and Jelavic at 4/5...

Jeremy Fears at 53.1% is the only player in the entire country to post an assist rate over 50% this past season. No one else has gotten over a 50% assist rate in at least 4 years.

Givens had an assist rate of 16.5 this past season, which actually isn't all that high. Not sure where the 51.1% number came out of, but it is an obvious error. Top PGs range from near 30% and up, but 51% is unheard of. So Givens is definitely another combo guard, not really a PG.

Givens was actually a 4-star, top-100 recruit in the same class as Juni Mobley & according to some services he was actually rated higher than Mobley. He has the right tools, he just has to have the right mental approach, work on his game & become more efficient. He took some steps forward this...

Since then USC landed 6-3 Jalen Cox from Colgate, Sparty got 7-2 Anton Bonke from Charlotte, Washington got 6-6 LeJuan Watts from Texas Tech, and Oregon got 6-9 Taylor Bol Bowen from Bama.
