Can’t wait for this game but the more I think about things. The more I think this..
They’re on par with AM and Notre Dame. Won both but could’ve easily lost. Very evenly matched games.
They’re not at our level though. They need a lot of things to go right to win on 12/31. They can win but the...
It was a variety of things. IUs front was very active with a lot of stunts and their back 7 was very good. They’re a very zone heavy team.
To make it worse it seemed we were calling a lot of deep shots which led to Julian holding the ball.
Miami really relies on their skill to win one on one...
Literally our entire back 7 may be better. I’d give them an edge maybe at nickle but other than that I’m confident in the others.
If we were creating starters from both defenses what would it be?
I’d go with Bain-McDonald-Moten-Curry on the DL
Sure but then they’re doing things they don’t do well or have a lot of reps doing. That’s how you get busts etc and I’d imagine we’ve been repping these things consistently since the last game.
Our DL isn’t facing their DL.
Our OL has given up less sacks than Miami. But the Miami defense has more sacks than ours. Overall it’s a good matchup but to say we don’t have an advantage at either LOS isn’t really accurate.
Luckily I don’t see Miami with an advantage in any of the other...
Our DL vs their OL isn’t a great matchup.
Their DL vs our OL is more interesting than people think. Indiana nearly doubled our yearly sacks in one game. Big reason for that is what IU does up front. Miami doesn’t stunt like IU they prefer to come straight at you and IMO that’s a good thing.
Their rush defense was worse than the numbers indicate.
They gave up over 200 yards rushing FOUR times over the season and almost did so again vs Miami. Texas AM is the definition of a team feasting on bad teams.
OSU gave up over 100 only 3 times for perspective with one of those 3 games being...
If they bring in Brohm that would be just about the worst hire for them. They tried to beat us with spread formations and speed once. Thats a recipe for not winning for another 10 years.
They need to stick to what worked which is running the ball, being efficient throwing the ball and physical...
Luckily we aren’t playing TCUN. Other than them Day has been very very good.
Think of the game with long layoffs. UGA, Utah, and both Clemson games.
I agree it’s likely a benefit because now the tendencies for the year start over. They’ll have to study the past years film to get a gauge on his...
Excited for this. Ryan is an excellent play caller and always has been.
To be honest the offense could use the different rhythm or play calling sequence anyway.
Also, I’m sure Ryan Day is thinking “like hell I’m going to chance it” in terms of having a fully focused Brian Hartline.
Well no… if the averages hold we aren’t a terrible offense we just struggle in the red zone. Who knows what that answer is for the red zone but even so we are in the top 50 for red zone anyway. Using your analogy if we knew we won our share of the time (which this offense does) you’d certainly...
