DT Michael Hall, Jr. (Cleveland Browns)

This is the kid that I'm pinning my hopes on for the 2023 Buckeye success. If he (and whomever else on the interior of the DL) can get a big push, it'll be a major disruption to the play. Dare we hope for another Big Daddy? I am. He's done it before, but as posters above have said, gotta be consistent. DL will take pressure off the DBs, etc. Go Bucks!
Hall just needs to stay healthy and keep his stamina imo. He is a great player that has only been held back by those issues. But I agree he is crucial for the defense this year, he is our best DT when healthy and playing more snaps. Adding Malone helps but definitely a fingers crossed situation that Hall is full go for most of the season.

Guess didn't realize the stamina issue, RB. Didn't see his name on Coach Mick's "workout wonders" or somesuch. Also woulda figured that Coach Mick would have made this integral piece of the DL, his special project, and worked his butt off. From what I've read/assumed, Hall is the kinda guy that sees the dollar signs from the NFL (and NIL), and would put in the hours/sweat to excel. Soooo, kinda confused. But yes, agree wholeheartedly with you about consistency. Got a theory, that the harder I work, the luckier I get. Hopefully, Mr. Hall will read all of our posts and take to heart.....gGo Bucks!

I should clarify that the lessened stamina came from the health issues, not a lack of work effort (according to some coaches' comments last year). Gotta stay healthy to get reps, and you gotta have reps to stay in optimal game shape. So if Hall stays healthy, then he should have a hell of a season.

  • Johnson said Mike Hall currently weighs 275 pounds. He said Ohio State would like to get him to 280-285 pounds, but Johnson said Hall is “in the best shape he’s ever been in.”

Buckeye Talk podcast mentioned that Hall left early and didn't return. I hope he isn't injured. Any word on what happened? Nothing in googleville.
As for defensive tackle Mike Hall, who played only two series against Michigan State before leaving the game, Day said he could not provide an update on Hall’s status.

This guy can’t stay healthy. I think he can be penciled in as coming back next year. His career has been essentially just the ND and MSU games from last year, and the rest just hype surrounding those games.

Mike Hall Jr. will be ready to play on Saturday against Michigan.
Ohio State's standout defensive tackle told Eleven Warriors Monday at TownHall's "Feed The Need" event he'll be available for the monumental contest against Michigan on Saturday after playing sparingly against Michigan State and then sitting out against Minnesota due to injury.
"Yes sir, I'll be back this week," Hall said. "I'm back healthy, and I'll be back with my guys. Let's go."
Hall said he got banged up after delivering a hit to the quarterback against Michigan State and "came up a little bit rough." He added his absence against Minnesota was precautionary and that he's thrilled to be back with his teammates.
"This week is the biggest week," Hall said. "We work for this game 365 days a year. We have to execute. We're definitely hungry this year, but the focus is on 'That Team Up North,' and we have to stay locked in on that (with the film room)."
Hall said he was happy to spend some time during a busy week providing free turkey dinners to Columbus residents while helping out at Feed The Need with nine other Ohio State players.
"This was an event I was previously in last year, so just keeping that going and being a blessing to others and having these people come out who may be less fortunate than us, just to provide those services and needs for them is just a blessing," Hall said. "It's good to do something good this week while also having a big game. God continues to bless those who bless others."
