Im holding off expectations for this because knowing how EA is I get the feeling they will just reskin madden for the sure easy cash grab. Why give a shit when you have exclusive rights and no competition?
Nah.....they spent a shit ton of time working on this game.....

....to get microtransactions working just right.......

......and even that part will probably be shit.

IT'S IN THE GAME. According to documents CLLCT obtained last week, EA Sports paid Ohio State $99,875.16 for its appearance in EA Sports College Football 25. The Buckeyes were considered one of 13 “Tier 1” schools that received the highest distribution along with Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oregon, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Utah and Iowa.

Over the weekend, Matt Liberman of CLLCT shared that EA Sports used AP Polls from the past 10 years as the primary variable to rank teams. However, the documents CLLCT obtained did not indicate whether the poll was “the sole barometer.”

Given Ohio State's prominent history in the AP poll – the program ranks No. 1 all-time in AP poll appearances with 982, followed by Michigan (919), Oklahoma (898), Alabama (873) and Notre Dame (873) – it makes sense that the Buckeyes would be a Tier 1 school. It sounds like Ohio State will remain in Tier 1 for the foreseeable future.

^ A good breakdown from Uproxx of all places. ^

The Portal will open after the early signing period and will be part of the offseason process, so it’s a shortened process compared to high school recruiting. The portal section is a tab you can toggle to from the recruiting page (using L1/R1). Service academies can use the portal, unlike in real life – as can Clemson, which Dabo Swinney will surely not like.

considered one of 13 “Tier 1” schools ... Oklahoma State ... Utah and Iowa.

I get that they want to include Clemson because they've had some recent championships, and M*ch*gan has had some recent success (with an asterisk). And Notre Dame - they have a lot of fans... fine. I would have drawn the line somewhere above Penn State, but that's just me. They want to include Penn State... fine... But Oklahoma, Junior? Utah? And Iowa? There's more teams on this list than points Iowa's offense averaged per game last year.

Fired up Madden 24 for the first time since August, last night. Got a month of EA play for free.

Whatever "changes" and additions are claimed to have been made in NCAA, I won't believe it until I play it. Because if it's anything like the experience I had in Madden last night - I'm out. Won't even bother to miss it.
