Landon Collins names Jordan Reed and Terry McLaurin as his standouts

An elite safety like Landon Collins would know a thing or two about standout offensive weapons.
Asked about such a topic Saturday, the Washington Redskins safety listed a predictable name alongside a surprise.
Per the Washington Post’s Kareem Copeland: “Landon Collins at the podium is asked which pass catchers have stood out: Jordan Reed and Terry McLaurin.”
Reed is the predictable name of the two and it is a good sign if he’s already being singled out by a defender like Collins. The Redskins need a big boost from him in 2019 after missing three games a year ago only scoring twice.
The surprising name is the rookie McLaurin. One might expect to hear about Paul Richardson or a player with more experience, yet it’s the Ohio State product Collins has talked about here.
Given the disappointments of Richardson and Josh Doctson over the past few years, it would be quite the bonus if a rookie wideout came in and had a big impact. Let Collins tell it, McLaurin might be well on his way.

Terry McLaurin makes case for Redskins No. 1 receiver
“He's way better as a receiver than I think they imagined,” Hoffman said via 106.7 The Fan. “And we'll see if it can carry over to games, but in practice, his ability to run away from people, whether it is vertically or horizontally across the field, has led to more big plays than any other receiver. I think they are, almost, a little freaked out with how good he is… They drafted him with the idea that he was the best special teams player in the draft, who would be a rotation-level receiver in the first couple years of his career, at the very least, his rookie year.
