WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Guys, not to be a negative Nancy here, but I am a little worried.
Congratulations! You are now officially a negative Nancy.

Lets face it, we have a big chance at having an iffy season, and also have the possibility of have a dull offense. While West Virginia right now is set up to have a great season, and will be an incredibly flashy team that will have sport center plays left and right, WVU QB doesn't have to do anything complex and can rely on his athletic ability.
Well, if having "an incredibly flashy team" meant anything, then Ohio State would have signed a top QB in 2007. Needless to say, the Buckeyes didn't sign a single QB in 2007, much less a blue chipper.

We really need WVU to lose at least 2 games imo, or we need to have a great season.
Honestly, I really don't care what West Virginia does this season. If I were a recruit, then I would certainly look past a single season, and even past football per se. I have every reason to believe that Terrelle Pryor is an intelligent, informed recruit, and that he will base his decision on a variety of factors, not simply the "flashiness" of WVU's offense, or how many games the Mountaineers win in 2007.

FWIW, spoke with a non-osu PA insider* (not bob), and he said Terrell is headed to OSU, but waiting to announce at the AA game.

It should be noted this source usually put WVU right up there with OSU, when others said otherwise. To not mention them in passing was noteworthy as well.

* - He may take credit if he wishes
bingo He's in.
Wells cousin told me Pryor's a silent buckeye then, my brother-in-law said the same thing and his best friend while, he played at OSU was a guy named Peterson

Hey I think that this is why TP picks OSU...

Why go to this?

when you got a chance with this...

Football may be his #1 but I think that BB is the reason for celebration. And if I may, Offutt and Crater are 5 stars in my book!

I don't think #10 is being a negative nancy, I think being cautiously optimistic is the best way to look at it.

I like what I'm hearing about us being the leader, and Id like to think that he is coming here, but it is to early to think that it is a done deal, especially since he plans on announcing at AA game.

How many times have we seen a blue chipper from out of state (or in state for that matter) who is a lock to OSU early end up going elsewhere when there is a long time before announcement date.

It would not surprise me one bit if a team emerges that isn't even in the picture now, that becomes one of the leaders.

Not saying either of these guys were locks to OSU..but before there senior seasons who would have called Barksdale to LSU, or B. Martin to Tennessee etc.

Since when has one bad season at a big program ever turned off a recruit? Let's face it, TP knows what Tress can do with a QB of his ability. Not only that, I bet WVU mired in mediocrity isn't too far from his memory either.

Isn't he visiting the same weekend as Brewster?

If so, it's in the bag.

You are correct... According to our list at the top of the page:

November 3rd (Wisconsin)
2008 OL Michael Brewster (Orlando, Florida) - official
2008 OL J.B. Shugarts (Klein, Texas) - official
2008 QB Terrelle Pryor (Jeannette, Pennsylvania) - official
2008 LB Andrew Sweat (Washington, Pennsylvania) - official
2008 LB Etienne Sabino (Miami, Florida) - official

Willie Mobley is also supposedly coming in that weekend... And you know that all our in-state guys will be there at least unofficially...

Sounds like a great group of players that will have the weekend to catch up and get to know each other even more. Let alone pulling out the W, which will be helped by having an incredible atmosphere. The stadium will be rocking come November 3. I see none of those players as one to complain that they weren't paid enough attention to on that visit, a la some that have come before them, as I'm sure they know the coaches have enough on their plate with playing the Badgers. I believe the situation will take care of itself. :oh:

Unofficial visit to Morgantown with Jenkins?

According to a poster on the other board, Terrelle Pryor will be visiting WVU with Josh Jenkins this weekend for an unofficial visit. Let's hope they're getting together to discuss their future plans at tOSU.

Mediocre offense = earlier opportunity for Pryor to play, right? At least in his eyes, as a confident all-world talent?

OSU's offense was avg until Smith took over. If such a pitch is still needed, that would work imo.

Exactly!

He saw what the offense can do under an exceptional & athletic QB. He knows with the right driver behind the wheel the Buckeye O can fly...

If the O falters this year that just means it's waiting for the right guy to come in and take over.
