WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Can those possibly be real numbers? I find the 40 time very suspect.

(But don't get me wrong, I'll be thrilled if those are legit haha.)
I tried to look it up back in this thread, but I remember reading within the last month or so that he was being timed in the 4.3's and 4.4's at a combine or at his team practices. He's actually that fast. I don't understand why he's not #1 with a (silver) bullet on all the recruiting websites, considering his physical and athletic abilities

The ball sailed through the air and landed past the 175-yard marker.
"That was with a 7-iron; I killed it," Pryor said.

Pryor recently benched more than 300 pounds and was timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.35 seconds, he said.

If would have hit a 9 iron, he could have hit it, and then ran down and caught his own shot.....

Bucknuts - Bill Kurelic - 08/27/07

Interview with Pryor's high school head football coach. Terrelle will decide late in the process, possibly at the Army All-American game, but maybe as late as Signing Day. His top schools are Ohio State, Penn State, Texas, Florida, USC, Alabama, Tennessee, Michigan, West Virginia and Notre Dame. Terrelle will probably take all five official visits.

Sounds like you guys are licking your chops over Terrelle,LOL!!!!

I can say from living over here in Jeannette,Pa., that you all should be!!! He is truely a gifted ball player. Some kids just have a natural ability. My son played ball with him his sophomore year.

I can't really explain the hipe over this kid, he is just an absolute pleasure too watch play. His abilities are astonishing, and he is guaranteed to break one out for big yardage every game. People compare him to Vince Young but I believe he has his very own style, that has simularities too Young. Terrelle scrambles better than Young and I honestly believe he is faster!
You have to see for yourselve's what I mean.

As far as how Terrelle looks this year, absolutely perfect!! He appears to have increased his upperbody strength, looks like he even got taller(LOL) most certainly got faster, and indeed got more accurate with his passing. He attended an off season QB camp, and it looks like it is going to pay off. The whole town of Jeannette is pumped up. Perhaps you caught an article in our local paper about the amount of kids who went out for football this season. It was an astonishing 66 kids! That's damn near a AAAA Team, isn't it? Jeannette is AA. Some say they did it for the ring at the end of the season, others just want to be able to say they played high school football with Terrelle Pryor. I don't know personally! That is just to give you an idea of the excitement in our little town.

The team will be televised on 4 different games, 2 of them will be nationally televised.(FOX and ESPN) This is a first for Jeannette as far as I know, other than playoff games. So if you guys want to watch Terrelle in action for yourselve's check it out!! I guarantee you won't be disappointed!! And you'll get a better look at your future, if he decides to head your way, but I have heard he wants to stay closer to home, this is unconfirmed of course! I will have my son ask him, too make sure!

pryors potential

As painful as it is to bring up vince young as a die hard buckeye fan I cannot help but see the similarities between the two players. Everyone knows about Pryors scrambling ability, but there has alos been a large amount of criticism over his passing accuracy and throwing motion. Alot of people think E.J. Manuel is the better player for this simple reason. However, Vince received much of the same criticism throughout his career at Texas and turned out the be one of the nations leaders in passing effiecency. Also, after watching tapes on Pryor, yes he does have an odd throwing motion. But the guy has an absolute cannon for an arm and has the capability to make every single throw on the field. From what I have been reading it appears that we are the front-runner to land this kid. There is not doubt in my mind that if Pryor is leaning our way that Tress will close the deal. This kid might turnout to be one of the most important recruits for the bucks in the past ten years or so.

first three games. The Jayhawks will be on national TV twice, on ESPNU on Sept. 14 and on Fox Sports on Oct. 22.

Those would be their games against Yough (if shown live) on Sept 14th, then on Oct 22 on Fox I'm guessing that would be the East Allegheny game - which lists as October 19th.

High School / Jeannette High School's two-sport superstar Terrelle Pryor
Pryor badly wants to play football and basketball in college, too
Wednesday, August 29, 2007
By Mike White, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

"I'm not changing. I'm playing both," Pryor said.

Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Texas, Florida and West Virginia are some of the schools courting him for both sports -- and telling him they will allow him to play both.

Pryor already is well-built, and Reitz and Jeannette coaches marvel at his leg strength. A few weeks ago, Jeannette's players were running 40-yard dashes. Pryor ran a few times and then decided to try.

"I blinked, and he was done," Reitz said. "I looked at the stopwatch, and it was 4.3. I checked with my assistant coach, and he had the same time."

Pryor was the Post-Gazette Player of the Year in 2006 after leading Jeannette to the WPIAL Class AA title. He had 1,732 yards passing and 1,636 yards rushing.

In basketball, he averaged 20.8 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists.

"Any workout he could make with us this spring and summer, he was there," said Jeannette basketball coach Jim Nesser. "I just think he wants to be the best there is. That drives him. That and winning."

Pryor's recruitment is one of the hottest topics in WPIAL sports. He says he has narrowed his choices to 10, but when asked if Ohio State, West Virginia, Michigan and Penn State were his finalists, Pryor said, "That's close, but there might be a couple more."

Pryor claims he doesn't have a favorite, and he also claims no one will have a big influence on his decision.

"I won't listen to anybody. It's not their life, it's mine," Pryor said. "My dad won't even tell me what to do. The only thing I'll listen to is if someone wants to try and coach me, or teaches me in school."

TERRELLE PRYOR -- JEANNETTE QB-DB

Quarterback Terrelle Pryor did a lot with the ball last year, rushing for 1,676 yards, throwing for 1,732 and scoring 29 touchdowns, including one as a receiver. But you might see a few new twists from Pryor and his Jeannette team this season. "When you have a cannon, you have to shoot it any way you can," said Jeannette coach Ray Reitz. Pryor, a 6-foot-6, 227-pound senior quarterback-defensive back, is ranked by some scouting services as the No. 1 player in the country. Pryor will most likely be given more freedom to change plays at the line of scrimmage this season. Jeannette also can change from a winged-T to a spread formation from play to play. "He's just much more at ease and more comfortable with the offense," Reitz said. "As a sophomore, he couldn't do this. But he can now." Reitz and his staff also met with McKeesport coach George Smith in the offseason to learn more about McKeesport's vaunted triple option offense. Pryor caught on to the triple option quickly. "What people don't realize is he really is like a sponge. He takes in everything you tell him," Reitz said. "I don't know how much we'll use the triple option, but we'll have it." "We're dong a lot of different things this year," Pryor said. "It's a challenge. But the coaches have told me I have to step to the challenge." But Pryor won't be doing some different things only on offense. He plays safety, but will line up all over the field, depending on different situations. "You're going to see him used a number of different ways," Reitz said. -- By Mike White
