Former Ohio State receiver Jalin Marshall, who was released by the Oakland Raiders only days after signing, has been suspended by the NFL for the first four games of the season, according to reports.

Marshall signed with the Raiders in May, then was cut two days later. He recently signed with the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger Cats.

Before the Alliance of American Football folded, he played with the Orlando Apollos and scored the league’s first touchdown.

He last played in the NFL with the New York Jets during the 2016 season. In 10 games, he caught 14 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns.

SKULL SESSION: JALIN MARSHALL RECALLS HIS ROUGH WELCOME TO THE TEAM, OHIO STATE BROKE MIAMI, AND KEVIN WARREN'S HAD A WILD FIRST FEW MONTHS

THE PERCY HARVIN ROLE!
Jalin Marshall was the second-highest-rated player in Ohio State's legendary 2013 class and was billed by many (including Urban Meyer), as the next Percy Harvin. But we had to wait a year to see him on the field, and all these years later, he tells us why.

To summarize, Urban Meyer told a freshman Jalin Marshall to block Ryan Shazier, Marshall (predictably) got concussed causing him to miss the entire season, then Meyer told him to transfer in front of the entire roster.

Welcome to the team!

I thoroughly appreciate Meyer's motivational tactics – and they've clearly worked for a great number of players, including the most recent Heisman winner – but the more stories I hear like this, the more I totally understand the guys who just didn't really jive with him.
