I’m not sure Chris Olave envisioned forgoing the NFL Draft to go catchless vs. Tulsa. Olave did catch one ball in the fourth quarter that did not count because of a penalty, but only had three targets total. That can’t happen! The All-American WR is the best piece of a loaded Ohio State offense and has got to get involved early and often.

There’s only one ball to go around and Olave is dealing with the early struggles of QB C.J Stroud, but there are some simple solutions. Olave can get involved with quick screens, jet-sweeps, and slants to get Stroud in early rhythm. While winning is the most important stat of the game, Olave needs to get 10-15 touches a game to give OSU the best chance of success. Ryan Day has lots of issues to deal with this season, mostly on the defensive side of the football, but Olave finishing the game without a catch should not be one of them.

Yeah, this isn't Air Raid football. 10 targets per game would likely yield a bunch of success. 10 more for Wilson and 10-12 for everyone else. 20 attempts passing should leave 30-35 rushes per game is probably where we want to be at for a 65 play game.

Pretty incredible he's going to set the touchdown record. I'm usually pretty skeptical whenever they sign a 3 star and people rush to say well he's underrated, he's a late bloomer etc but obviously in his case it was true.

Funny thing is, he wasn't even a late bloomer, I mean he set off his storied career in his frosh year in The Game. But I agree in that very few if any of us would've guessed how good Olave would've turned out. I mean the kid put up some crazy stats in HS, but producing in big time college football is a different story. There are countless examples of highly recruited WRs who have done nothing at OSU(i.e.: James Louis, Corey Smith, Dontre Wilson, Duron Carter, etc) or even in CFB, and Olave has a chance not only to break the TD record at OSU, but be one of the top 3-5 WRs drafted in the NFL next year
