wow.. glad im not a marshall fan..

kinda interesting.. ive been lurking on marshall boards since our little incursion a few days ago.. and i must say these guys make bucknuts look like a haven of sanity.. this topdawg guy has been completely respectful and tactful and just gave the tOSU point of view on things and they used this lil comment to ban him.. cracks me up.. i think marshall fans are worse than cryami fans..

Here's what I heard from a cousin's girlfriend's hairstylest who used to cut Randy Moss' mom's hair:

Tressel didn't send Arden, Randy Moss did. He was trying to get the guys fired up for the big game (since everyone knows Marshall players only give 100% when they "feel like it") so he told Darrion Scott (as part of a rookie hazing) that he had to get an OSU player to go talk trash to a Marshall player at a certain bar in WV. Scott of course knew Arden's taste for the sauce from his days of playing along side him as he sweat alcohol during two-a-days so he got him tanked, told him there were a bunch of hotties at this bar who wanted to meet him and sent him on his way. Arden then showed up at the bar yelling, "Show me the pussy!" which offended several Marshall players who thought he was calling them pussies.

Moss' plan is working to perfection. Now the Marshall players will be giving at least 80% on the field and we're screwed!

Hey BuckeyeSoldier,

I took your advice and came over to Buckeye Planet. For the most part, seems to be a site with some very good discussion about football. This thread, like many over on Herdnation leave a lot of room for improvement, but I can understand, not justify, the name calling and cheapshots from both sides. I live in Pickerington ( And no, I am NOT the guy that was involved in the incident with the Miami, OH coach) and have really had a hard time finding an OSU board to discuss football instead of getting cheapshots about inbreds and rednecks. Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and
say hello and thanks for a link to a quality OSU site. I especially like your game preview section. That is a very detailed section and outlook on matchups in the game. I cant wait to read about Marshall. I, for one, really look forward to discussing the football game. I see this game as one OSU should win but could really go either way due to question marks of each team and the different football philosophies of each program. I, like most of the Marshall fans, have the upmost respect for Coach Tressel and his program. I would like to share some little known facts about your coach that you may or may not know:

** In 1992, Marshall was leading YSU 28-0 in the 4th quarter of the div 1-AA national championship game. YSU rallied to tie the score 28-28 late in the game. Marshall's Willie Merrick (from central Ohio) booted a game winning field goal in the last seconds of the game to give Marshall a 31-28 win. The very next year, Coach Tressel's YSU team ran the table to go undefeated and win the I-AA NC.

** In 2001, trailing South Carolina 28-0 in the fourth quarter, OSU rallies to tie the score 28-28. However, South Carolina kicks a game ending field goal to win 31-28. The very next year, Tressel's OSU team goes undefeated and wins the NC.

** In 1995, Marshall wants Jim Tressel to coach the Herd after Jim Donnan announces he is going to Georgia. Tressel is offered the job, and conditionally accepts, awaiting finalization of divorce, not wanting to move out of the state of Ohio until finalized. Time passes and the two sides decide this may not be the right move at this time, coach Pruett is hired at Marshall, Coach Tressel gets his dream job a few years later.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed that. I look forward to talking some football with you guys leading up to and after our game together. We are having a tailgate from 11-9 at Riverwatch Towers the day of the game, stop by and say Hi.

Marshall's regular kicker did not play that day. I believe it was the brother who kicked the winning field goal. Also, OSU scored at the end of the 3rd quarter against SC to make the score 28 - 7 going into the 4th qtr.

This article doesn't say anything about Marshall fans talking smack. That's a bit of a reach if you ask me. Most Marshall fans are happy to see teams like Ohio State and Georgia on our schedule. Can we beat Ohio State...better believe it. The players truly believe that too.
Can we beat Georgia....better believe it. Will it happen? Guess we'll all have to wait and see. I know our players will believe they can win it. I hope you guys look past us like you did UAB.
The consensus among most Herd fans is that we will win the Ohio State game....we'd like to just stay close to Georgia. Your program will more than likely play for the National Championship this year and I wish you luck.

A.) First off, Georgia's too scared to play an OOC game against another BCS Conference school besides Georgia Tech. Check the schedules for the last ten + years. Until they start doing that, and until they can actually (perish the thought) win the Cocktail Party, then lets hold off on putting them up there with the Nation's Elite. Tressel and OSU have the talent, and a National Championship. What does Georgia have? Besides hedges ..

B.) I love the Marshall fans who boast about "how great the MAC has done against the Big Ten!" And yet, none of those MAC-Big Ten match-ups ever include a loss from Ohio State or scUM. Its one thing to beat an Illinois, and its quite another to walk out of the HorseShoe or the Out House with a win under your belt.
