Worst Bands Currently on Radio

Disturbed isn't that bad

I can't remember the comedians name (he was on Mr. Show) and he said that Rock music encourages violence... like when he hears Nickleback he wants to kill Nickleback...

Nickelcrack has like 2 or 3 good songs, but then the rest of it is a bunch of repetetive crap.

Some of their lyrics are hilarious though.

To each his own..i've just never liked distrubed.

Oh I wasnt taking a shot at you, was just questioning.

Yeah how bout we change this thread to best bands on radio. Are there really any good bands on the radio at all? I dont even listen to the radio.

No problem BMaximus. I don't like anything particularly well these days on the radio. I only listen to the radio as a last resort. Are there any country music bands? If so i would add all of them to the crap list.

White Stripes, Coldplay, U2
obviously we're discussing our tastes here, but you claim that white stripes, coldplay, and u2 are the worst bands you can currently hear on the radio? i shudder to hear what bands you think are good.

i think that if you list radio bands that you think are the worst, you must also list some radio bands or current popular bands that you like. if someone lists coldplay as one of the worsts but lists kidrock as one of the best, then i know to discredit his or her opinion.

also, brutus, you state: "Think they are one of the few good bands anymore." i'm not making a comment about your statement of the band but instead the sentiment in general. i have a hard time accepting the stance that music sucks anymore and that there are few good bands/singers. i completely disagree. i think that there is a myriad great bands/singers out there. how could it be that there are not? our population has grown dramatically. record companies sprout nearly every day. the internet has broadened the talent pool. the difference now is that there is much more selection. the radio skims off the available list only those bands/singers that will satisfy the majority. radio stations have gone corporate and have carefully researched selections of music. however, if one strays from the clear channel stations and locates college stations, public radio stations, satellite radio, and internet radio, one would find an ample supply of talented, albeit largely unknown, singers and bands.

the only time that i turn on the radio is when i'm tuning to my sirius signal station. if i'm searching for music, i generally rely on metacritic (awesome), tiny mix tapes, and allmusic. amazon is terrific, too. i just start with a band that i like and then click on all of the corresponding lists that are similar to or that include the original selection. amazon is one big cobweb.

good charlotte, new found glory, maroon 5, all these bullshit punk bands that are nothing but boy bands with guitars...

on the other hand, i happen to like my chemical romance and i liked a few of the killers' songs. my chemical romance is kind of a guilty pleasure for me i guess, have you seen the video for the song 'ghost of you'. Pretty damn good video and pretty damn good song.

Any rap that MTV blows...most music that MTV plays blow for that matter.

I like 80's U2, everything after that I cant get into.

Most of the previously mentioned bands I would agree with. I dont listen to the radio much though.

i like rap, though i wouldnt consider any thing in rap a "band" except the roots, and i dont care for them much. i really like u2's older stuff, the joshua tree. but to be honest, i dont listen to radio much. i doubt i could name any of the bands. green day has some, SOME good songs out there
