Virginia Tech 30, Boston College 10 (final)

Let the cards fall...
Should be a good game tonight, I think this one will be closer than some think (I.E. Vegas........13.5 point spread). Boston College led Florida St (their only loss) into the forth quarter. BC has the 4th best rushing defense in the country (77.7 per game avg.), Va Tech likes to run the ball quite a bit. Keep your eye on Soph. safety #44 Jamie Silva from BC, he's registered 27 tackles in the last 2 games (Wake Forest, Virginia). As a whole, their defense is giving up 273 YPG.

BC's offense has averaged 423 YPG, including 159 on the ground and 264 through the air. Va Tech is averaging 193 YPG on the ground, and 190 YPG in the air, 384 total YPG.

A stat to keep your eye on is that Va Tech has only surrendered 7 points so far this season in the first quarter. If BC puts together some nice drives early on and scores in the 1st, this game will be a close one I think.

I don't know if I have the guts to call the upset, but I think this will be an entertaining ballgame if you love defensive battles.

The more I think of this one the more we need VaTech to take out BC.

If BC upsets vaTech they'll gain ground on us in the BCS ans vaTech won't drop below us.

OTOH if VT wins BC will drop past us in the USA today and the Harris poll.

I'm not gonna shed any tears if VT goes down however.:wink2:

How is that BC defensive lineman who was cheap-shot'ed at Virginia? Will he play?

I'm sure ESPN will re-air the interview they did with Kiwanuka, which tells the story of his paternal grandfather, who was President of Uganda before Idi Amin took over and had him killed.

p.s - daddy, did you see the new avatar that Nutty posted on the open forum, which DEBuckeye said should be yours? It's worth a look.

Hmmm, I take just the opposite view. I think a BC upset would set the table for us to move up. I'm just stubborn, but I think Va Tech is overrated. I'm sure Miami will take them also.

I think they are overrated as hell but a #13 doesn't jump a #3 after #3 loses their first game. If they do their usual late October freefall then we'll jump them but a win by BC tonight does nothing but solidify 2 teams ahead of us instaed of just 1.

Yeah, but... Any team above us has to loose at least once inorder for us to move. A lot of action is going to take place in the polls in the next 5 weeks. A loss tonight for Va Tech has to help us. When they loose the second time we'll pass them. I really believe that, but it won't begin till they loose one. I like Florida over Georgia with Georgia's QB gone for the season they'll have a tough time hanging in. In my opinion the SEC is the toughest conference in college football top to bottom.
