DE Omari Abor (transfer to SMU)

Appears - to me at least- that Knowles will emphasize the Dline to put pressure on the passer, which is right in the wheelhouse of Coach J. Less emphasis on the DBs, but mayhaps that's because Okie Light didn't have the talent. Will be interesting to see how these new ideas blend in with the talent that's at the table at tOSU. LIke that Knowles has a rep for adapting to what the opposing O throws out, that would be a welcome sight from what we've seen over the past three years, as that has caused our D to be carved up and quartered. Hope the offense keeps plugging, don't see the OL studs jumping aboard. Skill players abound, but w/o the Oline, pretty useless. The QBs can't work their magic laying on their backs. Go Bucks!

yeah, let's see if the D can get back to Silver Bullet standards. The O still has plenty of weapons and firepower to be among the nation's best offenses. Don't see a legit shot at a NC in the near future until there is dramatic improvement on the defensive side of the ball though.

The lack of high-end OL talent coming in, when it's a huge priority and need in this class still remains a concern or mine. Stud can be a great X's and O's guy and player developer, but the game still comes down to talent. And if he isn't getting it done in the recruiting department, they need to find someone that can.

I think Riley and Grinch leaving for the west coast and with what's going on with the mass exodus in Norman recently has changed this recruitment dramatically in the past few weeks as Okla was seen as the biggest competition for landing him. Bama seems to have cooled on him and A&M is looking like the are going to bring in 10+ other top-rated DL this class (lol), so hopefully he chooses where he is wanted and needed more.

That was my read on it as well but hey, I'll take Abor and be glad the stars aligned. Huge talent and exactly what we need at DE in this class.
