ttun recruiting (all classes)

I mean, look; their recruiting hasn't been on par with the big boys for many years...but this is pathetic even by their standards. I hate the bastards and enjoy every ounce of their misery, but there is no reason they should be THAT bad. This is the kind of recruiting class you expect if you have a coach about to get fired or an interim coach.

It's a failure on multiple levels. How a program with their resources just insists on either ignoring or half-assing the NIL game is bewildering. Lets call it what it is...institutional arrogance. They aren't gonna "pay kids to come _ichigan." GTFOH. Evolve or die. Looks like they're choosing death. Cutting off their nose to spite their face.

I wonder if Simple Jim whoring himself out to any NFL job out there was him seeing this NIL disaster coming and him trying to avoid it. Probably not that smart, though.

Their lone top-100 (top-200, for that matter), decommits. They now have one 4* commit, ranked #233 (a local kid). The rest look like this:

430
461
533
647
N/A

Simple Jim KILLING IT.

I thought the Meatchicken players are getting NIL money. I see stories about their players donating some of their money to some sort of cause.

Are they even LEGIT in the running for any top 100 players? Not just a hat on the table? Their current crystal balls look like a bunch of low 4* and 3*s. Unless something drastically changes, they might not even crack the top 25 when its said and done.

Nope. Not as of now.

If they add their current favorable CBs. The main guys they are "in" on currently

LB Semaj Bridgeman - #305 OVR #20 LB
DL Enow Etta - #124 OVR #19 DL
DL My'Keil Gardner #485 OVR #57 DL
OL Paul Mubenga #705 OVR #62 OT
WR Fredrick Moore #490 OVR #61 WR
ATH Collins Acheampong #297 OVR #16 ATH (though he just visited Miami and there is talk of him favoring them now)
LB Jayvant Brown #212 OVR #15 LB (From FL and only 1 very low (1 confidence) CB to scUM)
ATH Jyaire Hill #301 OVR #32 CB

That's 1 player who cracks the top 200 overall and only a couple of guys who slide in the top 20 at their given positions. Doubtful they actually end up with all the higher rated ones either (Etta close to the top 100 and from TX who knows there, Acehampong seems attracted to Da U and Brown is in FL/SEC Country) zero confidence in Harbaugh's ability to land any of these guys let alone all of them.

There are going to be a LOT of Harbaugh special super low rated relatively unknown guy reaches in this class at this rate.

Unlike the schools who have embraced NIL and found ways to make it benefit them, it seems like scUM is just letting things run without any knowledge and nothing is organized. At OSU, Day has said what is needed to keep elite talent coming to OSU, the 2 collectives are working to find sponsers for players, and also providing recruits with plans on how to market themselves. scUM is seems like every deal is a surprise out of the blue, and it does seem like Hairball is bitter about having to come back to college and his assistants have had to work overtime to overcome his lack of trying at this point...

So, great class?

At least they will be able to talk about the upside for all these guys.

Yep.

Every middling low 4*-3* DL is the next Ojabo

Every middling 3* WR is the next Ronnie Bell - Which is hilarious in its own right, they prop Bell up to be some stud, he's certainly outplayed his beyond lowly recruiting ranking but his best season is 48 Cathes, 758 Yards, 1 TD. If that is their gauge on "stud' WR their standard of course is very low.
