ttun basketball (Juwan out, Dusty May in)

Michigan was on the verge of signing five top-100 high school prospects including two five-stars – Josh Christopher and Isaiah Todd – ranked No. 7 and No. 13 respectively.

In a truly terrible turn of events, both of those five-star players will now be going elsewhere.

Despite a 100 percent crystal ball prediction to Michigan just minutes before his commitment – though a late crystal ball came in for Arizona State – five-star shooting guard Josh Christopher shocked everyone and announced his commitment to the Sun Devils.
.
.
.
Michigan still has commitments from three top-100 commitments – No. 32 Hunter Dickinson, No. 69 Zeb Jackson and No. 85 Terrance Williams – but "Tolerable Three" just doesn't quite roll off the tongue.

Look on the bright side, Juwan Howard. At least now there's a scholarship available for your son!

:slappy:

Jace Howard, Juwan’s son, will walk on at Michigan instead of taking scholarship

Juwan Howard got some help with Michigan's scholarship situation from his son Jace.

The three-star recruit, who'd previously accepted a scholarship offer to play for his father next season, has decided to walk on with the Wolverines instead, a member of the Michigan basketball staff confirmed.

The shift frees a scholarship for the 2020-21 season that could go to another 2020 recruit or a graduate transfer. Michigan is in the mix for both.

The younger Howard recently completed his senior season at University School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 6-foot-7 forward is the No. 348-ranked player in his class according to the 247sports composite. He committed to Michigan on Jan. 20.

No. 13-ranked basketball prospect Isaiah Todd signs with G League

Top high school basketball recruit Isaiah Todd signed Friday to play in the G League next season, and sources told ESPN's Jonathan Givony he will become the second top recruit to bypass college and join the NBA's professional pathway program.

Todd is ranked by ESPN as the No. 13 recruit in the Class of 2020. He joins Jalen Green, the No. 1 prospect in the 2020 ESPN 100, who announced his intention to go to the G League on Thursday.

"We're excited to have Isaiah begin his professional career in the NBA G League," G League president Shareef Abdur-Rahim said in a statement. "With his skill and drive to succeed, I'm confident that he will thrive in the NBA G League and use all of our available resources to prepare for the next stage in his career."

Players in the G League's yearlong developmental program will receive a salary up to $500,000, including financial incentives for playing in games, completing community events and attending life-skills programs coordinated by the G League's oversight of the program, sources said. Todd's salary will be about $250,000 if he reaches all the bonuses that are in the contract.

The program includes professional coaching, top prospects and veteran players who will combine training and exhibition competitions against the likes of G League teams, foreign national teams and NBA academies throughout the world, sources told ESPN.

The program's season could include 10 to 12 games against G League teams that wouldn't count in standings, sources said. The primary objective will be assimilation and growth into the NBA on several levels -- from playing to the teaching of life skills.

Todd, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Virginia who attended Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina, decommitted from Michigan, where he had been the first top-15 recruit at Michigan for new coach Juwan Howard.

Illinois and Michigan have been in a recruiting battle for Adam Miller, a talented guard from Chicago. He's verballed to Illinois but hasn't signed yet.

11th place in the B1G, no tournament? Would someone remind these clowns that Illinois SWEPT Michigan this year, finished the year ranked and higher in the conference. We're not world beaters, but we're turning a corner.

Fucking douchebags.

No convincing them man. Doesn’t fit their narrative! At least us rational people know the truth.

ttun facing osu-level attrition. difference is that next season's osu team will be replacing talent with proven talent (overall, not positionally), while ttun will be replacing talent with unproven talent. dfbia should find out very quickly just how good -- or not good -- their coach is.

not that losing bajema means much, though. kinda like osu losing gaffney. not trying to tear down alonzo, but let's call a spade a spade. unless he was set to hit the weight room and the cafeteria, gaffney wasn't going to find minutes ahead of liddell, young, towns, sueing, key, or perhaps even diallo. heading into the first offseason, he was as far from meaningful minutes as any top-50 player we've had. no surprise that bajema and gaffney have faced the same issue, which is that neither has a body that left the high school game.
