The first link you listed jc is Vanderbilt's incoming/current freshman class so Xavier would not be listed there. He is committed to Vanderbilt, a decision he made last week.

I wouldn't be too down on it for two parts.

For one, OSU picked up 4 commitments last week. Including one from a stud of a pitcher in Indiana.

For two, Turner could turn into another Haase situation where he is drafted and signs, thus taking away money that could be used in this class or on a very pitcher-loaded 2013 class. Many feel Turner is headed pro regardless, which being signed to Vanderbilt makes the leverage he has quite high and thus a higher bonus to have him spurn college. Not to suggest that is near a reason he decided to pick Vanderbilt over Ohio State, but it is something someone in his position that appears to be set on going pro could use to their advantage.

Suspect 2-3 more commitments to come over the next few weeks as we approach the early signing period.

Thanks, Chris. I agree with Clev, great blog. So your prediction is that Turner never plays for Vandy then?

I guess him not playing for us vs not playing for Vandy isn't really a loss, lol.

On paper, this class isnt as good as Kent or probably Cincinnati, but there is still time to add to our haul. I'm not really concerned if we dont land any more...Beals has proven he can spot the 'diamond in the rough' types, and he has plenty of raw material to work with in this group. Besides, we had a great class on paper last year and they all went to friggin MLB! And I'm not even gonna get into why it hurts B1G schools to lose HS players to the draft more than most other schools...grrr

Anyway...In a year that saw the top players once again leave Ohio (Cherry, Smoral, Turner, and Kidston), we did, however, land the best player to stay home..Jacob Bosiokovic. It was a strong year for Ohio and you could maybe argue that Bosiokovich would have been the top player in the state last year.

Ratliff, Post, and Kuhn are also highly regarded players. (Post and Kuhn are from IN) and i really like that Nennig kid from WI. The infielders in this group can really hit...Ratliff is a freakin monster! And the middle infielders can swing it too.

And speaking of monsters..cant wait to see Zach Boren swing the bat for us in 2012! I think this years team could make some noise. The JUCOs and transfers looked great during last weeks inter-squad games.

2012 is looking up because the JUCO kids from last years recruiting class and the newly eligible transfers showed out during the S&G World Series.

Heck, the freshman looked pretty good too. Porter, Leffel, and Gretz all homered. Gretz also looked great behind the plate. Coastal Carolina transfer Brad Goldberg threw 5 no hit innings. Duke transfer Jeff Carroll had a 6 RBI game. All the JUCOs played well and should be big contributors this year.

I expect we'll have at least 3 newcomers in the everyday lineup and at least one in the weekend rotation.

Im lovn the sound of this^^^^. No one is asking for a national title but man at least be competitive against good comp. Lets hope this is the start of something special. Be nice to get at least of the top Ohio guys every year.

We have pretty much the same expectations, Brody. I think the Bucks are well on their way to being a program we can all be proud of again. Facilities, talent, and scheduling are all trending up, up, up.

Speaking of top Ohio guys, Beals may have wrapped up one of the top players in the state for 2014. I mentioned Jacob Niggemeyer (*cringes*) earlier in this thread. Jake is certainly one of the best sophmores in Ohio and is on course to be one of the best in the midwest by his senior year.
