The Ohio State Baseball (Official Thread)

https://pressprosmagazine.com/buckeyes-baseball-2020-if-you-ask-greg-beals/

"Had they met along the way I’m pretty sure the old cowboy actor and crooner, Gene Autry, would have taken a shine to Ohio State baseball coach Greg Beals.

Autry, who in the 30s sang Home On The Range, and the lyric ‘…where never is heard a discouraging word’ must have had even then an appreciation for guys like Beals, who wasn’t born until 1970. Ironically, in 1961 Autry would purchase a major league baseball team, the American League’s Los Angeles Angels, which he owned until his death in 1998. Karma, perhaps."

We'll see. To say the least, I am unimpressed so far.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 137th season of Ohio State baseball started with the Buckeyes’ first full team practice Friday afternoon. The session was the first of 18 before the Buckeyes travel to the Sunshine State to open the season Feb. 14 in Port Charlotte.

“Everything rises and falls on leadership.”

That was the quote of the day as 10th-year head coach Greg Beals’ Buckeyes hit the turf at Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Big Ten Tournament champions and NCAA Nashville Regional participants a season ago, the Buckeyes return 20 letterwinners, including six starting position players and all three weekend starters, to go along with 15 newcomers.
