Texas Tech Red Raiders (sponsored by BET365)

Hopefully, this will push TTU to push Sorsby into the supplemental draft. Let the NFL deal with this.
Not going to happen. The oil booster pretty much runs not only the AD but the entire university down there. They're all in on Sorsby.

As far as the boycott goes, the other schools might have a play in arguing that ttu is breaching the contract by playing a player ruled ineligible by the ncaa. They could also make the argument that given Sorsby's addiction (HINT: he ain't cured after 30 days), the integrity of the games would be fundamentally in question.

All you need is an injunction by a friendly local court and that runs the clock until the season's over. That's how it works I believe.

It rains mud there.

Carry on.

A lot of hyperbole as people line up to show who can be more outraged and clutch their pearls over the "integrity" of CFB is all I see.

The guy made micro bets at IU when he was buried in the depth chart and had no influence on games, never bet on his team at UC or TT. That fact pattern does not equal 1919 Black Sox or Pete Rose.

Reality is more that the sport of CFB has always lacked "integrity" depending on how you define that or how far you want to play that charade. What people are actually upset about is the TT oil booster just blatantly buying the program into relevance whether that be buying players via NIL or local judges for a ruling. It feels like he's cheating but under the new rules, he isn't.

Floating the idea of refusing to play the TT women's soccer team over this is as absurd as the judges ruling.
Re: Sorsby admitted to placing at least 9,000 impermissible bets (exceeding $90,000) on his team’s games while being a member of Indiana football program in 2022

Just sayin': Yeah, but those "micro bets" really added up. The NCAA rules on betting apply to all members of the team, i.e. not just the QB1 and/or just to all players listed in the "2 deep" lineup.

While Sorsby was enrolled at Indiana from June 2022 to December 2023, he acknowledged making at least 2,900 bets that totaled more than $30,000.

Between Sept. 2, 2022 and Oct. 22, 2022, Sorsby made at least 40 wagers on Indiana football and/or individual members of the team. According to the documents, the bets ranged from $1 to $114 and totaled at least $850.

I was going off of this as the volume of his betting and I am placing no judgement on it. He broke the rules he was punished, the oil booster gamed the system.

My eyes roll out of my head when I hear/read people talking about the "integrity" of college football. It's barely ever had any at all.

Don't worry about the integrity issue. We all know that's bullshit. Look at this as an opportunity to kick Texas Tech in the balls. Fuck them and their oil money.

Big 12 discussing options as Sorsby trial gets February date

A Texas court scheduled Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby's trial against the NCAA for Feb. 8, 2027, two weeks after the College Football Playoff National Championship is scheduled to be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The 99th District Court in Lubbock County, Texas, where Texas Tech is located, scheduled the trial Monday, the same day a judge granted Sorsby a temporary injunction that might clear him to play for the Red Raiders in 2026 even after the NCAA declared him ineligible for wagering on college sports.

The NCAA has already appealed Judge Ken Curry's ruling to the Court of Appeals for the Seventh District of Texas in Amarillo.

Each of the four justices in the Seventh District -- Chief Justice Judy Parker and Lawrence Doss, Alex Yarbrough and Laura Pratt -- are graduates of the Texas Tech School of Law, according to their online bios.

Just sayin':

Usually the 3 slappies are reserved for the political board; however, I'll make an exception for this one.

Yep that's the old we'll drop the case after the season date and not even have to go to trial
