Terry Johnson (Purdue Assistant BBall Coach)

In fairness to Coach Johnson, there was not a lot of defensive talent on the OSU roster lately. Nobody on the team seemingly could reliably get stops, and no one was getting very many steals or blocks. Even the best defender, Jallow, would sometimes give up baseline drives (plus he got called for crucial brush fouls vs ORU).

I have no idea why he would leave Ohio State for a similar position at Purdue especially when Purdue just hired another assistant coach Paul Lusk who is a defensive minded coach. Two coaches for the same position is sort of strange. I wonder if Holtmann asked him to look around:wink: As @nomatta mentioned Johnson certainly did not earn his keep recruiting. Any time you would see a recruit's name mentioned it would be either Peden or Diebler as the lead recruiter.

Here is hoping that our HC can find someone who can coach defense but also is willing to get out on the road and recruit.

Bye-bye Johnson
