sorry i'm not a homer. And I would garauntee that we will not go 13-0 with pryor doing nothing because all that would do is not let him develop at all so when he would be called on to do something (ie third and long after some predictable running plays) he wouldn't be ready. And for all the people that expected us to go 13-0 that was a bit of a stretch. We should have realized that our qb was a soph and two of the three starting line men were soph's not to mention the only seniors are andy miller and cordle. our receivers were not that experienced (the star was a soph, a solid junior, and a senior who hasn't seen much playing time). The running backs were not that experienced either, and rightfully so because we had one of the most talented backs at osu last year toting the rock. so playing to win this year might have gotten us a couple more wins but could have costed us a couple next year. I understand wut you were saying about maximizing the talent at qb even if we don't use him, but pryor has so much more potential in him. I was merely saying that we should probably focus more on getting amazing db's in recruiting to solidify the secondary and then go after the top rb every year because that is our championship style team. a great d with a bruising running game. i didn't mention recruiting as big on d line and linebackers because we always develop good run d and the secondary has been the recent spot thats struggled. they'll have good discipline but the overall athleticism won't be there. tressell has recruited spread players and runs a power run offense. doesn't add up. although, im not sold that he only runs power o because he has shown some good spread schemes, but it seemed like the coaching staff wasn't as experienced in running it. i was saying this year we commit to the scheme that will win next year and fits the teams best qualities (the most athletic quarterback in the country, some speedy backs, and fast wide receivers). it would have struggled a little more because they're not as experienced in it but once they would be they would be amazing (next year).

The point is using Krenzel's NFL starter status as a rebuttal is pretty weak. There is a reason the Bears cut him a year after starting him.

Krenzel was clutch, fearless & a great leader, but he was a mediocre passer... and benefited greatly from arguably the most dominant defense of the decade.
wow you bash me for saying that tressell turning pryor into krenzal and then you go and argue how he was carried by his defense ???????

Hey...I hope he turns every QB into Craig Krenzel. No Buckeye QB was more of a winner in my lifetime than he was.
wow your perspective is unbelievably narrow. The team won the championship. not krenzel. and some apects of certain teams tend to carry the team more-so than others. the defense carried that team, along with a nasty o line and the most talented half back to come to osu (start another forum on mo if your going to reply that he isn't. this forum is about tp). this team has a whole other identity. boom and zoom are not every down backs and the d is not as good. mainly in the secondary. we don't have gamble, doss, nickey, and fox.

I like this forum very much thank you. :roll2:

There is a thread for Clarett.

BTW Eddie George, Robert Smith and Beanie Wells have or had more overall talent and "tools" than MoC did. MoC was a great player for one year.

This D was every bit as good IMO. Sure some players this year (especially on the D-line) were better than 2002 and some of the DBs in 2002 (Doss and Gamble especially) were better, but I think it's very even otherwise.

BTW if Pryor does one thing like Krenzel it is that he wants to win and crush the guy across the ball from him every bit as much. If that translate into a championship because Tressel somehow turns Pryor into Krenzel on the football field, I'm ALL for it.

I feel a split coming up....

You add such great commentary to this thread. I should've known everything has to be in correct grammar for you to understand it. By the way, you could use a comma after capitalization and you don't need "also." "And also" is redundant. But your an english genius, so I must be wrong. :wink2:
