So did we ever find out for sure whether they were expanding the student section this season? I would assume the ticket demand would require some type of change.

I was told by people in the ticket office there are not plans to change were the students sit. Don't know about expansion but they will not move the students from where they've been in the past.

I heard that the student ticket packages went up from 1700 last year to 6300 this year. :yow1:
That is great news! This is the first step to getting the students where they need to be, closer to the floor. The powers that be are not going to make any changes without seeing ticket demand so this is a step in the right direction.

Congratulations students! I'm so proud. Really missed you the past few years when the arena was a third or more empty.

After more than 25 years as a season ticket holder, including my fair share of horrible seasons following horrible teams, I am now in row U of the upper bowl. That is just about the very top.

But I don't mind. You pay tuition and that makes this YOUR team. It is not about OSU being ranked #4. It is about supporting your school which is what you are all about. Last year (and 20 plus years before that) you had some really tough classes and it just didn't work out. I understand completely.

Now we just need to get the faculty and PSL license holders out of your way so you can get the very best seats - the ones you really deserve. Your loyalty and dedication must be rewarded.

Mine certainly was.

Now that I have vented, for any students reading this - I would do the same were I a student.

My real gripe is with the way the Athletic Office has treated long term season ticket holders for eons. Just remember when you take your seat this year that somebody was moved to make room for you.

Huh. Nice of all the season-ticket-holding students to show up last night. Nice of anyone to show up last night. Whatever the announced attendance was (14,000+ I heard) was total BS.

Nothing quite like sitting in the top row of the upper bowl (huzzah for Row U season tickets) and being able to see all the empty seats in the lower bowl. Exhibition or not, that's pretty weak.

I bought tickets for the game five minutes before tip and sat 4 rows from the floor? How did you get such bad seats?

I am a little pissed off about my student tickets I picked up last night. I sat in the 100s all last year with my student tickets and now that all the fair weather fans are out im in the 300s for the season. Thats bullshit. If you didnt get student tickets last year, no way in hell you should have better seats then me this year.

Non-student season ticket location. I really don't mind where my seats are, I just wish people would support the team like they do football. We can get 50,000 for a football scrimmage, but not sniff 10,000 for an exhibition basketball game.

As long as the folks show up for the real games, I guess I can't complain too much. (I reserve the right to bitch like a monster if there are tons of empty seats during the non-conference schedule.)
