  • This site rocks and there is almost nothing I think needs fixing here, but one thing that just flat out pisses me off to no end is when the search engine arbitrarily fucking ignores words simply because "they are too short". Now, I know Google throws out common words, such as "a", "the", "an", "of", etc. But when the search engine throws out "ABC", "TV", and "map" in the search string "ABC TV coverage map" just because they are "too short" and only looks for "coverage", it totally ruins an otherwise excellent search function.

    OK, I'm done ranting.

Yeah, I almost sent a message to clarity about this. The problem is that the search engine doesn't let you search for phrases. This weekend I was looking for the thread I started after the democratic convention about "Help is on the way." You can't search for that phrase. I finally had to search for "homeless" to get what I wanted.

No worries. I have a much more powerful and intelligent search engine to put in place, and was going to install it after the pick'em hack, but then everything came up on this end and I had to put it off.

When I have my laptop back, it will be going in.
