MoC was 7'ish? That seems a bit of a snub, probably due to factoring in all of the drama that followed MoC after his freshman year (and some during his freshman year). But, if they look only at the impact that the player made on the field his freshman year, MoC surely should be in the top 3 in my biased opinion. I didn't actually see the SportsCenter that you are speaking of, just going off of the original post.

Mo C.. what a waste of talent. My god. I honestly believe if OSU had him last year, they'd have won NC numero dos.. We'd have had a ground game v. Wiscy and I think he could have been the difference in Michigan as well. Maybe not a forgone conclusion, but it would have been nice. But, can you imagine MoC as a Jr? (Yes, even with the current line?)

What Peterson has done is impressive. I knew the guy would get some reps, but I had no idea he'd do this well.

From what I watched in the OSU game, I think I could have driven a Hummer thru a couple of the holes that line created

I don't think Peterson's 8 touchdowns without finishing an entire season should be more valuable than a tailback that helped us win a National Championship. If MoC were a Junior and still playing, it would be "Adrian who"?

I liked the way Corso and Herbstreit summed it all up.. pretty much saying that Peterson is an amazing back, but if he were a junior or senior he'd be respected but not talked about nearly as much as he is now just because he's a freshman.

I think I can see now how fans of opposing teams must have gotten sick of hearing MoC's name in '02.
It seems as though every time you turn on ESPN there is Peterson, just like there was MoC 2 years ago.
