Listening to the Split Zone Duo Patreon show (for $5/month, it's got incredible college football content), they said Nevada just isn't committed to football. That is why Norvell was willing to leave. Colorado State is a superior opportunity.

Oh, I know. It's a funny little college (most of my high school class ended up there) that loves to talk a big game. They see themselves as some baby University of California campus (current President is spewing a bunch of nonsense that he's going to get them into the AAU), but they never make the investment to be more than the local commuter school.

Alford is the younger brother of current Griz defensive tackle Eli Alford, who will be a junior in the fall. His twin brother Max Alford also has an offer from Montana. Their uncle Tony Alford is the Ohio State assistant head coach and running backs coach.

Just sayin': He must be very good academically too. He got offers from Yale, Dartmouth, and all 3 service academies.

With Alford's promotion, Ohio State now has Kevin Wilson as its offensive coordinator, Brian Hartline as its passing game coordinator, Justin Frye as an associate head coach for offense and Alford as the running game coordinator. None of them are them will call plays for the offense, however, as Ryan Day will retain that responsibility.

Looks like Corey Dennis is the only assistant offensive football coach that doesn't have an additional title to the position that they coach.
