Tony "Benedict" Alford (meh)

Not going to link it because I have no idea how well the source is, but profootballscoop.com is reporting the deal is done...have no idea about this guy at all or what he has done in the past...can't name 1 RB from ND of note in past 5 years...but if Urban likes the guy, I'm in

He's a very very good recruiter. I'm not sure how involved he was in RBs coaching, but he played RB while Urban was at Colorado State.

As to notable Notre Dame running backs, Jonas Gray (New England Patriots) ran over the Colts earlier this year and accounted for 4 TDs

Wad more or less made this call in the Drayton thread yesterday. Good call. Don't know much about the guy to make a call)...but if he was the recruiting coordinator for ND, that's huge.

I believe our current TEs coach, Tim Hinton was UC's RB coach when Kelly was there.
And I could easily see Alford helping Smith with SEC country recruiting(specifically Florida) as he was monumental in getting FL guys to South Bend like Aaron Lynch, Louis Nix, Greg Bryant, Armando Allen and most recently Dexter Williams.mit also helps that Alford aphas a relationship with Kareem Walker from recruiting him to ND, as well as Mike Weber

Also, he coached Michael Floyd as the WRs coach at ND

Interesting bio, he's coached some very good college players, and his RBs don't seem to make the small mistakes that cost games
